Joan M. Devine Garrabrant, 77, of Monroe, died Monday, Dec. 4, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Newark, she lived in East Brunswick for 50 years before moving to Monroe four years ago. Ms. Garrabrant was a communicant of St. Bartholomew’s R.C. Church, East Brunswick.
Her husband, Edward Garrabrant, died in 1996; a son, Donald, in 1999; and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, in 1961. A brother, Donald Devine; two sisters, Claire Crosson and Eileen Nann; and a grandson, Edward William III, also are deceased. She is survived by a son, Edward W. Garrabrant, and his wife, Barbara, of South Brunswick; three daughters, Joanne Childs and her husband, Barry, of Easton, Pa., Susan Garrabrant of Monroe and Deborah Krypel and her husband, Joseph, of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved pet, Frankie.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 7, at Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, and were followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew’s R.C. Church, East Brunswick. Interment then followed at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
