Lewis School to illuminate Tree of Light tonight

The Lewis School’s 33rd Annual Tree of Light Celebration will take place 7 to 9:30 p.m. today.
A Princeton holiday tradition, it is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Lewis schoolyard at 53 Bayard Lane, near the corner of Paul Robeson Place and Route 206.
A silent auction will also be held during the evening and will conclude at 9:30. Some of the items up for bid include an evening at the Nassau Inn, a weekend getaway at the Jersey Shore, tickets to McCarter Theatre, a sculpture from Go for Baroque, dinner at Florentinos Restaurant, a photo session with Houseworth and a membership to The Garden State Children’s Museum. All proceeds will benefit The Lewis School’s Scholarship and Program Fund.
The entertainment for the evening will include special performances by The Lewis School Children’s Chorus, harpist Elaine Christy, Princeton Boychoir School, the a cappella chorus Koleinu; Princeton University Nassoons, Princeton Tigerlilies and Princeton University Wildcats.
More than 100,000 lights will be illuminated on the blue Norwegian spruce tree in recognition of "The Gifts and Great Promise of Learning Different Persons Everywhere."
Founded in 1973, The Lewis School offers this annual event as part of its continuing commitment to raise public awareness and understanding of dyslexia, attention deficit disorders, auditory processing issues and other related language-based learning differences.
On Sunday, the school will host its first Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will offer crafted items including jewelry, knits, artwork, photography and gourmet fare. All proceeds will benefit The Lewis School’s Scholarship and Program Fund.
The Lewis School and Clinic was the first educational resource in the greater Princeton area to devote all of its resources and expertise to the full-time education of bright, learning-different students. For more information, contact The Lewis School at (609) 924-8120.
