Resolution Run 5K registration continues. This run is a New Year’s Day tradition in Hillsborough and benefits Hillsborough High School’s Project Graduation and several nonprofit Hillsboroughbased pet rescue groups. This year, special hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) will be given to all participants. The 3.1 mile race begins 11 a.m. Jan. 1 at the municipal building. Both walkers and runners are welcome. Country Manor Tour at Duke Gardens in Hillsborough will be from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday year round. Cost for general public is $15 per person and advance registration is necessary. Purchase tickets online or call 722-3700. The tour is set indoors in the main living areas of the estate’s 67,000 square-foot residence. The Somerset Valley YMCA is planning a Happy New ‘You’ health blitz during the month of January. Adult fitness classes are now included with a Full Privilege Membership. Santa Claus and his elves are making an early stop from noon to 2:30 p.m. They will be joining DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of 400 Route 206, Hillsborough in partnership with 94.5 PST to collect new and gently worn coats for local children this winter. At the annual Coats for Kids drive, DreamMaker will gather children’s outerwear while kids are invited to take a free picture with Santa and his elves. Santa to fly into Princeton Airport at 11 a.m. Dec. 24. Parents are encouraged to bring a wrapped gift tied together with each child’s name in large print to the lobby of the airport. Do not exceed 12 inch present. Arrive prior to 11 a.m. and the children and parents will be entertained and served cocoa and cookies. To participate, you must donate a new unwrapped gift(s) of clothing, books or toys to be distributed through Mercer County Board of Social Services. Personal checks will also be collected. Old Country Heritage Pilgrimage will be held from May 14 to 25 sponsored by St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. During the 12-day tour you will be able to visit Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The cost per person is $2,375 double occupancy plus tax and single occupancy supplement is $280. Space is limited, and is secured by a $200 deposit. The cost includes airfare, hotel accommodations, two meals daily, two special performances, English speaking guide and admissions.
