Geneva (Odell) Brown, 88, of Monroe, died Sunday, Dec. 10, at her home.
Born in Jamesburg to Pauline and Edgar Odell, Ms. Brown lived most of her life in Jamesburg before moving to Rossmoor in 1991. She was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone as an operator in Jamesburg and was voted "Miss Voice with a Smile" in 1963. Ms. Brown spent most of her later years as a homemaker.
Her husband of 65 years, Donald Ross Brown, died in 2004. Her two brothers, Lorenzo and Clarence Odell, and three sisters, Edith Meissner, Ethel Servis and Irene Norcorss, also are deceased. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Louis Brown of Monroe, Bette Jane Brown of Trenton and Deborah Ann Brown and her husband, James Stiffey, of Trenton; three sons, Roger Donald Brown and his wife, Phyllis, of Chestertown, Md., Allan Edgar Brown and his wife, Myra, of Monroe and Robert Ross Brown and his wife, Jane, of Brookfield, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Rodney Carlton Brown, Michael Allan Brown, Theodore Albert Brown, David Ross Brown, Sarah Brown Dykes, Sandra Marie Broxmeyer, Robert Wayne Lutz Jr. and Richard Donald Lutz; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg, with the Rev. Jack Foster officiating. Burial followed in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg.
