Lambertville

   Painting were reported stolen from the People’s Store on North Union Street.
   One, described as being a painting of cows in a meadow and valued at $595, was hanging on a wall and taken sometime between Dec. 7 and Dec. 9.
   Another, also valued at $595, was taken from a wall display sometime between Dec. 5 and 12. It is of a Belgium farm scene.
   Craig W. Hubbert, 33, of Trenton was charged with hindering apprehension for giving his brother’s name after being stopped for careless driving Dec. 13, police said.
   Mr. Hubbert was stopped on Wilson Street. He also was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and being an unlicensed driver.
   He was released without bail.
   Police received a report of minors drinking alcohol on Hancock Street.
   As a result, Jesse L. Panyko, 23, of Lambertville was charged with providing vodka and beer to a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old, both males from Lambertville.
   The minors were released to their parents. Mr. Panyko was charged with providing alcohol to minors.
   Jeffrey Scharneck, 49, of Levittown, Pa., was arrested on a warrant from Lambertville for theft.
   He was picked up at the Somerset County Jail.
   He was taken to the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $427 bail.
   Joseph A. Maldonado, 37, of Trenton was charged with drunken driving Monday at 2:51 a.m. after being stopped on Route 165 for speeding on Bridge Street, police said.
   Mr. Maldonado also was charged with speeding, reckless driving and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.
   He also had criminal complaints signed against him for possession of suspected cocaine and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, specifically for having four glass vials commonly used to contain drugs, police said. One clear plastic bag contained suspected cocaine residue, police said.
   He was released without bail.
