West Windsor council hikes Waterworks fees

WEST WINDSOR — The waterslide, diving board and lawn chairs will be worth a little bit more next summer, at least to the Township Council.
Recognizing a need to keep up with more expensive equipment and services, the council approved a number of rate increases for the Waterworks at West Windsor Community Pool.
The increases, which passed 4-1 with Councilman Franc Gambatese dissenting, were necessary to keep up with various updates to structure, service and salaries over the past several years, council members said.
The approved increases are within a range of prices. Designation of a specific amount will be made at a later date, council President Linda Geevers said prior to the vote Monday evening.
A one-year family membership, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will now cost between $375 and $500, up from a range of $300 to $375. Individual memberships have been increased to $150 to $250 from between $100 and $175.
Senior citizen rates, daily rates, swim lessons and memberships to the swim team were also raised.
The facility, located in West Windsor Community Park, includes a family leisure pool, a lap pool, a child pool and a splashdown pool with a waterslide.
