Frank L Collura Sr.
BORDENTOWN CITY Frank L. Collura Sr., 93, of Bordentown died Sunday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Browns Mills.
Born in New York City, Mr. Collura lived in the Bordentown area for over 55 years. He retired as plant manager of the Quartermaster Laundry at Fort Dix after 38 years of service.
He was a member of the Lakeside Rod and Gun Club, the N.J. State Federation of Sportsmen’s Club, the Bordentown Council Knights of Columbus No. 570, and the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and especially storytelling.
Son of the late Antonio and Concetta Granza Collura, brother of the late Anthony Collura and Beatrice Sabatino, husband of the late Florence Collura and father of the late Joanne Collura, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Jr. and Annette Collura of Trenton, William and Dorothy Collura of Browns Mills, and James and Fran Collura of Monroe, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Robert Colabella of Murphy, N.C.; a step-sister, Rose Vitale of Parlin, N.J.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.

Shirley E. Sorber
WHITING Shirely E. Sorber, 79, died Friday at Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Born in Philadelphia, Ms. Sorber was a Bordentown resident for 50 years prior to moving to Whiting two years ago.
The daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Ryan, and widow of the late Joseph E. Sorber, she is survived by three daughters, Alice Bencze and her husband Charles of Whiting, Joanne Dowling of Pennsylvania and Vicki Gallagher and her husband Martin of Georgia; two sisters, Virginia Sutherlin of California and Winnie Bowers of Pennsylvania; a brother, Bill Ryan of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. Burial will follow in Upper Springfield Cemetery, Springfield. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Francis W. Mich
WHITING Francis William Mich, 83, died Monday at his residence.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Mich had lived in the Bordentown-Fieldsboro area before moving to New Egypt in 1950 and then living in Whiting for the past 16 years.
Mr. Mich was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had been a co-owner of the Fieldsboro Welding Co. in Fieldsboro and also worked as a welder for Yates Industries in Bordentown. He also was a custodian for the Plumsted Township School District in New Egypt. He was a member of the New Egypt Elks Lodge No. 2457 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, stained glass and working in his tool shed.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Blanche Mich, his sister Blanche DiPietro and his wife of 58 years, who died on Christmas 2005, Janet Weaver Mich, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Kernan of Whiting; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jack Stephens of New Egypt, Donna and Ronnie Hughes of New Egypt, and Carol and Eddie Kozabo of North Port, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Karen Mich of New Egypt; two sisters, Virgie Forman of Mercerville and Violet Parker of Bordentown; four brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Helen Mich of Trenton, Russell and Shirley Mich, Howard and Rita Mich and Raymond and Gerda Mich, all of Bordentown; a brother-in-law, Dave DiPietro of Bordentown; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be private under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main St. in New Egypt.

John Watro
BORDENTOWN CITY John Watro, 91, of Bordentown City, died Dec. 20 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born in Beaver Meadows, Pa., he resided in Bordentown for over 60 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was an auto mechanic at Fort Dix for 30 years.
Mr. Watro was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Bordentown and a member of the Holy Name Society and a member of the Bordentown Democratic Club.
Son of the late John and Sue Watro; brother of the late Mary Mahasky, Anna Petrilyak, Joseph Watro, and husband of the late Alice Watro; he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack and Marsha Watro of Pennington and Paul R. Watro of Louisville, Ky.; four sisters, Irene Mayernick of Hazelton, Pa., Verna Basick of Hazelton, Pa., Eleanor Tarone of Beaver Meadows, Pa., and John Doria of Beaver Meadows, Pa.; two grandchildren, Ami and Colin McChesney; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

June E. Weymen
CHESTERFIELD June E. Weyman died Dec. 19 in the Mercerville Center in Hamilton.
Born in Hamilton Square, Mrs. Weyman was a longtime Hamilton resident before moving to Chesterfield 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and going to flea markets.
Predeceased by her parents, Walter L. and Gertrude (Hewitt) Robbins, her son, Charles W. R. Weyman, a son-in-law, Fred Samuels, two sisters, Doris M. Stockton and Ruth Cooper, and a brother, William H. Robbins, she is survived by her daughter, Susan D. Samuels of Browns Mills; two sons, Walter L. Weyman of Cookstown, and Michael G. Weyman and his companion Valentina Golya of Chesterfield; a sister, Lillian G. Costantini; a sister-in-law, Dolores Robbins; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Dec. 22 at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
Alice B. Hollohan
BORDENTOWN Alice B. Hollohan, 78, died Friday at the CareOne at Hamilton.
Born in Boston, Mass., she was a longtime resident of the Bordentown area.
Ms. Hollohan was employed as a medical secretary with Carter-Wallace Co. in Cranbury. She also was a past board member of the Bordentown Township Board of Education and the past fire commissioner of Bordentown Township. She loved cooking for friends and family. She was an avid quilter who enjoyed spending time doing arts and crafts.
The daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Bernazani, she was predeceased by her husband, Augustin P. Hollohan, her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Frank Cotter, and a niece and nephew.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Gray Rutherford of Bordentown; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Diana Hollohan of Massachusetts; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Arrangements were made by the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
Chu Keng Yu
BORDENTOWN Chu Keng Yu of Bordentown, 74, passed away Sunday at Compassionate Care Hospice of St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. Services were held Tuesday at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
Violet Nitschmann
BORDENTOWN Lottie Violet "Vi" Nitschmann, 63, died Saturday of cancer.
A Bordentown resident most of her life, she was a homemaker and, later in life, became a licensed practical nurse working at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceville. She enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, traveling, Broadway musicals and an occasional friendly card game.
Daughter of the late John and Lottie Mosier and sister of the late Ron, John, Butch, Walter, Edward and David Mosier, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Werner Nitschmann Sr. of Bordentown; two sons and their spouses, Werner Jr. and Cindy Nitschmann of Bordentown and William and Annette Nitschmann of Allentown; two daughters and their spouses, Dr. Cindy and Dr. Todd Schmoll of Beach Haven and Sandra and Dennis Daly of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Anna, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Allison, Devin, Christopher and Brandon; her sister and her spouse Susan and Joe Barrett of North Carolina; her brothers and their spouses, Michael and Shirley Mosier of Langhorne, Pa., and James and Kathy Raczkowski of Florida; a brother, Richard Mosier of Levittown, Pa.; her sister-in-law Kristina Corelli of Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews and countless dear and close friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.

George J. Burg
SPRINGFIELD George J. "Burgie" Burg Sr., 79 died Dec. 20 at Water’s Edge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton.
Mr. Burg was born in Roebling and was the son of the late John and Katherine Wahl Burg. He resided in Springfield Township the past 46 years and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 825 of Newark with 37 years of service. During WWII he was a member of the Merchant Marine. His favorite pastime was visiting all of the local flea markets.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cooper Burg; sons George J. Burg Jr., Jake P. Burg; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna J. and John B. Maxwell, all of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Laura Burg of Vineland; and a daughter and companion MaryAnn Burg and Dominick Mariniello of Burlington; three brothers, Martin Burg Sr. of Florence, Frank Burg Sr. of James City, Fla., Jacob Burg of Bristol, Pa.; a sister Anne Steward of Florence; and nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Wednesday at Holy Assumption Church, Roebling, with the Rev. Albert Ricciardelli officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling.
