William Hoffman

   MANVILLE — William A. Hoffman died Dec. 23 at the home of his son, Jerome, of Middlesex. He was 75.
   Born in Pittstown, Pa., he was raised in Buttermilk Falls, Pa., on the family farm before moving to Manville in 1951.
   Mr. Hoffman worked at the Johns-Manville Co. for 10 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Brooks Warehouse for 28 years. Most recently he was a school crossing guard for the Borough of Bound Brook.
   He was a past member of the Finderne Rescue Squad.
   Two sisters, Carol Ann and Peggy Hess; and a brother, Joseph Hoffman, are deceased.
   Surviving are two sons, David of Little Egg Harbor and Jerome of Middlesex; two daughters, Patricia Stiles of South Bound Brook and Diane Grabko of Kregseville, Pa.; six grandchildren; his companion, Marjorie Philhower, and her three children; two brothers, Howard and Chuck; and three sisters, Marion Franz, Rosemary Coolbaugh and Mary Gloria Hoffman.
   Private cremation was under the direction of Bridgewater Funeral Home in Bridgewater.
