CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, has named its emergency pediatric unit Star and Barry Tobias Emergency Pediatric Care in recognition of a $40,000 donation by the Manalapan couple to the CentraState Healthcare Foundation. The charitable and community involvement of the Tobias family is largely focused on children and related programs, according to the medical center.
Tobias is an executive with Peter Sharp & Co., a New York City commercial property firm, and also serves as chief financial officer of The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation. It was through his efforts that CentraState secured the largest gift in its history earlier this year — a $2.125 million grant from The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation — which will help fund the construction of CentraState’s new ambulatory campus. Construction of the 178,000-square-foot outpatient center is under way and planned for completion in late 2007.
For more information about donation programs and naming opportunities at the hospital, call the CentraState Healthcare Foundation at (732) 294-7030. For information on health and wellness services across the CentraState system, call 866-CENTRA7.
