A memorial concert and art event for John D’Agostino, an artist whose life was tragically ended recently in a train accident, will be held Sunday 2-11 p.m. at the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts (SICA), 20 Third Ave. in Long Branch. Participating in the concert, which will benefit SICA, will be Casino Evil, The Jack Lords, Mothguts, Mark Diomede and Friends, Agency, Woodfish, Matt Fisher and the Telephone Junkies, Turtle Soup, Pull the Plug, Rick Barry and Days Awake. The event will also feature art by Mike Depko, Skll Boy, Dogmatic and others, and poetry by Greg Laplaca, Par Fream, Bailey Hoffman, Michele Angeleo and many more.
There will be a lunch buffet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and a dinner buffet from 7 to 9 p.m. with food prepared and donated by Market in the Middle, Asbury Park, and Joey Gia’s Trattoria, Bradley Beach. Admission is $10. For information, visit www.sica.org.

The Shrewsbury Players will hold open auditions for Alan Ayckbourn’s fantasy thriller “Communicating Doors” on Monday, Jan. 29, and Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church House, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury. The play will run three weekends, starting April 13.

The Art Alliance of Monmouth County in Red Bank will be receiving work Wednesday, Jan. 31, for the February exhibition. The show is open to members of the Art Alliance and free for the public to attend. Mark Walnock will be the artist featured in the window of the gallery, located at 33 Monmouth St.

The Monmouth Conservatory of Music (MCM), a not-for-profit community music school in Red Bank, is accepting enrollment for its spring semester.
