Seven Hopewell Township residents were appointed to Hopewell Township’s Board of Health Advisory Committee Monday night.
Appointed for three-year terms Monday were Matthew Martin, of New Road, and Michael Rothwell, of Meadow Lane. Mr. Martin is a township fire official and a member of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services Unit, a paid group that responds to fire and first aid calls. Mr. Rothwell’s family owns the Pennington Quality Market.
Appointed to two-year terms were Dr. Nihahus Karabulut, of Hallett Drive, and veterinarian Mark Sherwood, of Navesink Drive.
Appointed for one-year terms were environmental scientist Jody Hill, of Timberlane Drive, and registered nurse Kathy Hill, of Palmer Road, who will be an alternate voting member.
Also appointed as an alternate voting member for one year was Sheryl Stone, of Shara Lane, former longtime chairwoman of the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance.
The Township Committee, which voted on the appointments, also introduced an ordinance (see related story) under which two of the group’s seven members could be from Pennington or Hopewell Borough. Under that proposed measure, the borough members would be alternate voting members. The five regular voting members would be from the township.
