MANVILLE Wasyl Bojko died Jan. 23 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was 86.
Born in Ukraine, he came to the U.S. in 1956 and settled in Manville.
Mr. Bojko worked in the paper mill at Johns-Manville Corp in Manville for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club.
He was a member and one of the original founders of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Manville where he held many positions including an elder for many years and the sexton for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Ukrainian National Association.
His wife, Helen Bojko, died in 1996; his 12 siblings are deceased.
Surviving are a son, William of Elizabeth; and one grandchild.
A funeral service was held Jan. 27 from Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a liturgy at St. Michael Ukrainian Church, followed by burial in St. Andrew’s Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
