Alexander Bell

   Alexander M. Bell, 87, of Monroe, died Friday, Feb. 9, at home.
   Born in East Orange, he resided in Edison before moving to Monroe eight years ago.
   He earned a doctorate degree in pharmacy from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Prior to retiring in 1998, he was an administrator of pharmaceutical services at Rutgers University, New Brunswick for 25 years. He had previously founded Bell’s Drugstore in Edison.
   Mr. Bell was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
   He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertha S. Moskovitz Bell; a son, Victor A. Bell and his wife, Lynne, of Jamestown, R.I.; a daughter, Sandra Breakstone and her husband, Ron, of Washington, Conn.; three brothers, Leo Bell of San Mateo, Calif., Frederick Bell of North Brunswick and Daniel Bell of Newark; two grandchildren, Addie and Eric.
   Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 11, at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels Inc., Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
