Following are highlights from weeks seven and eight of the Lambertville Basketball Association:
Third- and fourth-grade girls
Niece Lumber 2
Sneakers Plus 0
Niece Lumber scored with a little over a minute left in this well-played defensive game.
Cydney Caldwell was the only scorer in this game, having two points.
Kayla Marriott, Caroline Restrepo, Brittany Kerr, Lian Grow, Meagan Warner, Christina Brush and Amber Riveiro helped run the offense.
The Sneakers Plus team, including Jessica Hoff, Sadie Lerman, Devon Nini, Cassie Barrett, Amanda Myers, Julia Greenwood and Hadley Greenwood, kept up the defensive pressure.
Kiwanis 2
In a battle for first place, Extreme Mowing edged out Kiwanis for the win.
Bryana Hopkins had four points, and Ashley Eick and Madison Storcella each scored two points.
Teammates Jade Assad, Hannah Shultz, Cori McClelland, Mikayla Stoy and Kendall Storcella helped with some nice passes.
Zully Sandoval was the only scorer for Kiwanis. Sarah Franzini, Amanda Wengryn, Maria Lelie, Kacey Abitz, Shelby Bacorn and Shannon Ferry exhibited good teamwork throughout the game.
The Medicine Shoppe 21
H&H Pools 8
The Medicine Shoppe continued its winning ways by defeating H&H Pools.
Clayton Hope scored seven points, Brennan Carey made six points, Collin Fritschy added four points, and Tom Wyckmans and Tyler Frazee each had two points.
Nick Bohrer, Shane Carey, Dakota Fiel, Joseph Ippolito, Sam Tucker and Wyatt Fuller ran strong defense throughout the game.
The scoring for H&H Pools came from Miles Mosby with three points, Josh Phillips and Brendan Duer with two points each and Nathaniel Tettemer, who chipped in one point.
Jonathan Eick, Zachary Roy, Lukas Robinson, Jimmy Barnes, Michael Barnes and Ernie Luster grabbed several rebounds.
Colonial Sportsmans Club 7
E.J. Lelie remained in the hunt for first place by defeating CSC.
Andrew Lelie, high scorer, poured in 10 points.
Richard Roy made three points, Myles Johnson and Robbie Quinn each added two points, and Alex Romeo chipped in one point.
Brandon Smith, Brendan Hartpence and Shane Hoyer made some nice passes and put up a good defense throughout the game.
Scorers for CSC were Jimmy Smiegocki, Thomas McCloughan and Robert Tomenchok, each with two points, and Nick Scamuffa, who added one point.
Tyler Hack, Dario Sabidussi, Chad Moore, Thomas Maris, Spencer Agabiti, Alex Luccarini and Alex Delvecchio helped run the defense for Colonial Sportsmans Club.
Garefino 11
Body Tech Fitness 10
In a well-played game by both teams that went down to the wire, Garefino edged past Body Tech by one point.
Rebecca Williamson broke open the game in the fourth quarter by scoring six of her seven points to seal the victory for Garefino. Mikayla Fulper added four points to finish off the scoring for Garefino.
Jessica Esposito, Kyle Bogdan, Julianna Hoff, Maggie Emge and Danielle Mundhenk played tough defense throughout the game.
Tiffany Moran and Annie Hajek scored four points each, and Chelsea O’Neal added two points for Body Tech.
Brett Lelie, Keziah Groth-Tuft and Ashley Luster helped grab several rebounds, keeping this a close contest.
White Dog Studio 13
In a battle for first place, Zanya Spa edged White Dog Studio 14 to 13 with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
Emily Marshall led Zanya Spa with eight points. Ryann Tucker scored four points, and Taylor Caldwell made two points.
Heidi Culbertson, Amy Dupuis, Dain Silvestri, Madeline Colavita and Cassie Fresco helped run the offense for Zanya.
Scorers for White Dog Studio, which had a chance to tie or win the game from the foul line with four seconds left, were Jessica Ramsin, who poured in eight points, including several hard drives to the basket for lay-ups.
Mary Margaret Mummich and Eliot Hagerty had two points each, and Clover Stieve added one point.
Kaycee Zelkovsky and Corrine Miller put up a good fight throughout the game.
Mortgage Mobility 24
Hart Enterprises 10
Mortgage Mobility clinched second place this week by defeating Hart Enterprises.
Jake Whitaker led Mortgage Mobility with 12 points. Daniel Voorhees had six points inside the paint. Toby Coleman scored four points, and Andrew Nini added two points.
Jimmy Eick, Bobby Goodwin, Brad Bolash, Zachary Mastrich and Alex Frazee helped run the offense for Mortgage Mobility.
Robert Albanir scored eight points, including two three-pointers, and Paul Cally added two points for Hart Enterprises.
Jason Shurts, Kyle Tillett, Andrew Closson, Robert Eick, Aaron Weber, Danny Begg and Joey Quinn grabbed several rebounds.
Pine Creek Golf Center 11
In a well-balanced scoring attack this week, Mike Cifelli’s Sunoco defeated a tough Pine Creek team.
Jake Phillips led Cifelli’s with 12 points. Devon Troutman scored nine points, C.J. Townes, Andrew Koval and Patrick Ferry each had four points, and Liam Piscetelli and Grant Jensen kicked in two points each.
Cody Burd and Ryan Godown supported the offense.
Cody Conley scored four points, Jonathan Wendeborn added three points, and Kyle Richardson and Hunter Ploski each made two points for Pine Creek.
Dakota Polenz, Jared Bogdan, Shane Duer and Charles Graycar put in a good defensive effort.
Third- and fourth-grade girls
Extreme Mowing 10
Niece Lumber 5
Extreme Mowing clinched first place in the regular season this week, defeating a tough Niece Lumber team.
Extreme Mowing had a well-balanced scoring attack as five girls made the scoring column. Hannah Shultz, Cori McClelland, Ashley Eick, Bryana Hopkins and Madison Storcella scored two points each.
Jade Assad, Mikayla Stoy and Kendall Storcella did a good helping out the offense.
Niece Lumber played a tough game and continues to improve every week. The scorers were Cydney Caldwell with three points and Kayla Marriott, who added two points.
Carolina Restrepo, Brittany Kerr, Lian Grow, Meagan Warner, Christina Brush and Amber Riveiro played very well on defense.
Sneakers Plus 7
In another close and well-played game, Kiwanis edged Sneakers Plus to clinch second place for the regular season.
Sarah Franzini scored six points. Amanda Wengryn and Zully Sandoval added two points each.
Kerry Runkle, Kacey Abitz, Maria Lelie, Shelby Bacorn and Shannon Ferry helped run the offense.
Sneakers Plus played tough throughout the game but just came up a little short this week.
Devon Nini scored three points, and Amanda Myers and Julia Greenwood each had two points.
Cassie Barrett, Sadie Lerman and Hadley Greenwood helped grab several rebounds for Sneakers Plus.
H&H Pools 17
E.J. Lelie 16
In a preview of a first-round playoff game in two weeks, H&H Pools held on to beat E.J. Lelie.
In a well-played game by both teams, this game went down to the last two seconds before being decided.
Josh Phillips led H&H Pools and scored 10 points. Brendan Duer had four points, and Miles Mosby made three points.
Lukas Robinson, Nathaniel Tettemer, Ernie Luster, Jimmy Barnes, Michael Barnes, Jonathan Eick, Zachary Roy and Julian LaPlante played good defense.
Brendan Hartpence scored 10 points. Myles Johnson had four points, and Andrew Lelie added two points for E.J. Lelie.
Robbie Quinn, Richard Roy, Brandon Smith, Shane Hoyer, Brandon Panetta, Alex Romeo and Miles Smith played their hardest throughout the game.
Colonial Sportsmans Club 8
The Medicine Shoppe clinched first place for the regular season by beating CSC.
The scorers for the Medicine Shoppe included Tyler Frazee and Brennan Carey with six points each. Tom Wyckmans and Collin Fritschy had three points each, and Clayton Hope added two points.
Shane Carey, Nick Bohrer, Joseph Ippolito, Dakota Fiel and Wyatt Fuller played good defense.
Colonial Sportsman continues to improve each week both offensively and defensively. CSC kept the game close for a while before the Medicine Shoppe boys pulled away.
The scorers for CSC were Thomas McCloughan, who scored three points, Jimmy Smiegocki and Chad Moore with two points each and Dario Sabidussi with one point.
Thomas Maris, Nick Scamuffa, Robert Tomenchok, Tyler Hack, Alex Del Vecchio and Spencer Agabiti kept up a good effort throughout the game.
Zanya Spa 17
Body Tech Fitness 7
Zanya Spa clinched first place for the regular season this week by beating Body Tech Fitness.
Emily Marshall made six points, Ryann Tucker scored five points, andTaylor Caldwell, Heidi Culbertson and Amy Dupuis each had two points.
Dain Silvestri, Cassie Fresco and Madeline Colavita helped run the offense.
For Body Tech, Brett Lelie scored three points, and Ashley Luster and Jessica MacGregor each made two points.
Annie Hajek, Keziah Groth-Tuft, Tiffany Moran and Ali Carlson grabbed several rebounds for Body Tech.
Garefino 10
In another close and well-played game, White Dog Studios edged Garefino.
In the win, White Dog Studio clinched second place for the regular season.
Jessica Ramsin scored 10 points with Corrine Mille, Eliot Hagerty and Caroline Faulkner adding two points each.
Mary Margaret Mummich, Clover Stieve, Kaycee Zelkovsky and Ashley Bentham played good defense.
The scorers for a very tough and scrappy Garefino team were Rebecca Williamson and Jessica Esposito with four points each and Mikayla Fulper, who made two points.
Megan Donnelly, Danielle Mundhenk, Julianna Hoff and Maggie Emge helped run the offense for Garefino.
Pine Creek Golf Center 20
Hart Enterprises 19
In one of the most exciting games of the day, Pine Creek Golf Center edged Hart Enterprises by one point to clinch third place for the regular season.
Jonathan Wendeborn scored 10 points, Hunter Ploski and Cody Conley made four points each, and Dakota Polenz added two points.
Shane Duer, Charles Graycar, Kyle Richardson and Jared Bogdan played tough defense throughout the game.
Hart Enterprises also continues to get tougher every week and were led by Robert Albanir with eight points. Aaron Weber had four points, Jason Shurts and Michael Failla had three points each, and Robert Eick had one point.
Kyle Tillett, Andrew Closson, Danny Begg and Paul Cally played with their best effort.
Mortgage Mobility 11
Jake Phillips had a monster game this week for Cifelli’s by scoring 17 points.
Devon Troutman scored nine points, Grant Jensen had six points, and Andrew Koval, Ryan Godown and Liam Piscetelli each added two points.
C.J. Townes and Cody Burd both helped run the offense.
Mortgage Mobility’s shots were just not falling this week, but they played hard, tough defense and introduced a man-to-man full-court press that bothered Cifelli’s Sunoco and forced several turnovers.
The scorers for Mortgage Mobility were Toby Coleman with six points and Jake Whitaker with five points.
Jimmy Eick, Bobby Goodwin, Bishop Castor, Alex Frazee, Brad Bolash, Zachary Mastrich, Daniel Voorhees and Andrew Nini helped grab several rebounds for Mortgage Mobility.
There is one more week of the regular season.
Playoffs begin Saturday, March 10, with the championship games the following week on March 17.
