The new Sayreville police officers are Joseph Przybylowski, Thomas Sheehan, Charles Teator, Daniel Ellmyer, MIchael Cinardo and Matthew Kurtz. SAYREVILLE – Six new officers have joined the borough’s police force, bringing the squad’s total number of sworn personnel to 89.
Having graduated from the Cape May Police Academy after 21 weeks of training, the new officers were sworn in during the Feb. 5 Borough Council meeting. They will now train with borough police for eight weeks before being assigned to the patrol division.
The officers are:
+ Daniel Ellmyer, 27, of Woodbridge, who was previously employed as a mortician. He has an associate’s degree in business administration from Mercer County Community College.
+ Matthew Kurtz, 25, of Sayreville, who previously worked as a maintenance technician at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Kurtz has a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Scranton.
+ Joseph Przybylowski, 28, of Sayreville, who was previously employed as an agent with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Taxation. He hold a bachelor of arts degree in public administration from Kean University, Union.
+ Thomas Sheehan, 29, of Old Bridge, who previously worked for Belmar as a class II special police officer. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
+ Michael Cinardo, 24, of Old Bridge, who previously worked as supervisor of security at Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township.
+ Charles Teator, 26, of Woodbridge, who was previously employed as an auto technician by Malouf Ford in North Brunswick. He was also a class I auxiliary police officer for the Woodbridge Police Department. Teator is the only one of the six new officers who is married.
