The Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society invites its members and neighbors to the spring potluck supper this evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church.
Please bring you own place setting and a dish to share.
The evening’s program will be a visit with John Hart, New Jersey signer of the Declaration of Independence, portrayed by Bill Agress.
Mr. Agress is involved in local history and annually participates in the Christmas Day reenactment of Washington’s crossing of the Delaware.
Also this evening, stop by the Gourgaud Gallery’s First Friday reception for Agnes Seugnet, oil and pastel artist.
The reception is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the exhibition will be on display until March 31.
The Friends of the Cranbury Public Library’s monthly used-book sale takes place on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library.
The Friends encourage all readers to stop by and browse the continually restocked shelves in the Gambino Room.
Take a break from your hectic weekend: just drop in, grab something that catches your eye and rest your feet for a few minutes in the library’s reading area.
With prices like $1 for hard-cover books and 50 cents for paperbacks, how can you possibly lose?
The Cranbury Education Foundation’s annual craft fair takes place next week.
Volunteers and bakers are needed to help make the weekend as successful this year as it has been in years past.
Anyone interested in volunteering, including young people looking for community service hours, may contact Deanna Anderson at 395-6769.
Bakers may contact Jane Holland at 409-0221.
There are only a few tickets available for "Harriet Tubman: The Chosen One," which will be presented on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 PM in the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury Fellowship Hall.
If you still need tickets, which are priced at $5, visit Patina Home or 1st Constitution Bank, or call Audrey Smith at 655-5361.
Stage, film and television actor Gwendolyn Briley-Strand will portray Harriet Tubman in one of her journeys through the Underground Railroad.
The 45-minute program, followed by a question-and-answer session, is most suitable for ages 8 to adult.
Please join your friends and neighbors at a benefit spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 10 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury.
To help defray some of the expenses associated with the dinner, please bring a dessert to share. Cost of the dinner is $15 per person.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Cranbury resident Rob Diano, who was in a car accident just before Christmas.
If you can help in the kitchen that evening, please contact either Diana Joseph Riley at 395-7115 or Karen Klein at 655-9274.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to Boy Scout Troop 52. Rob, and son Matt, are members of the troop, which will handle the funds through their nonprofit account.
The dinner is sure to be a fun night and a simple way to help a friend in need.
Residents may contact Ms. Sedor by phone at (609) 655-3386, by e-mail at [email protected] and by mail at 32 Evans Dr., Cranbury, NJ08512.
