Alice W. Seamon
Alice Witte Seamon, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 24, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, she lived there for 50 years before moving to Piscataway and then to Monroe.
She was a former member and past president of St. Peter’s PTA in New Brunswick. She had been a member of St. Peter’s Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, Joseph A. Seamon, died in 1984. She is survived by three daughters, Roberta Hirsch of Freehold, Arleen Seamon of Monroe and Nancy Lauler of Nellysford, Va.; four sisters, Grace Selover O’Connor of North Brunswick, Ruth Vallely, Jane Alcorn of Monroe and Marion Grote of Tunkhannock, Pa.; one brother, Robert Witte of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Interment followed in the Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
Lillian M. Mount
Lillian Meyer Mount, 90, died Tuesday, Feb 20, at Pennswood Village, Newtown, Pa.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she grew up in Cranbury.
Following her marriage in 1936, she and her husband raised their children on the family farm on Route 1 in West Windsor before moving to Rossmoor and then to Pennswood Village.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and needlepoint and was a creative and prolific rug hooker. She was an avid golfer and traveled extensively in the United States and Europe in her retirement.
Her husband, Bernard Mount, is deceased. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William and Nancy Mount of Doylestown, Pa., Gordon L. and Elaine Mount of West Monroe, N.Y., Gary B. and Pam Mount of Lawrence and Timothy A. and Lynn Mount of Laurel Hollow, N.Y.; a sister, Betty Jane Petterson of Cranbury; a brother, Robert Meyer of Rockville, Md.; grandchildren, Stacy Shearn, Jeffrey Mount, Sarah Mount, David Mount, Reuwai Hanewald, Tannwen Mount, Mark Mount, Andre Mount and Jeremy Mount; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Pennswood Village.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennswood Employee Educational Assistance Fund, Pennswood Village, Newtown, Pa. 18940.

Howard Tomlinson
Howard "Tom" Tomlinson, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Monroe, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Newtown, Pa., he was educated there and at Bloomsburg State Teachers College, graduating in 1941. He and his wife lived in a retirement community near Medford before moving to Monroe in 2000.
He taught high school business subjects in Sharon Hill, Pa.
During World War II, he served a cryptographic officer in the U.S. Army and later as a B-24 lead squadron navigator in the Army Air Corps. Following the war, he completed a master’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania. He then taught business subjects and coached football in Jenkintown, Pa., and Westfield, N.J., before becoming a principal of various Westfield schools. He served as assistant superintendent in Westfield from 1961-1979. He was a member of the Westfield Presbyterian Church.
After retiring, he was a community volunteer and traveled worldwide.
Four brothers, Robert of Newtown, Pa., Allan of Belvidere and Hackettstown, William Watson of Lansdale, Pa., and Richard of Newtown, Pa., and one sister, Emma Elizabeth Rowe of Harrisburg, Pa., are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Beatrice Masteller Tomlinson; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Clarence Hickey of Rockville, Md., Martha and Edgar Underwood of Killeen, Texas, Virginia and Barry Mitchell of Scotch Plains and Sara and Steven Thode of Westfield; six grandchildren, Leigh Ann Hickey of Ashburn, Va., Elizabeth Hickey of Flagstaff, Ariz., Mark Mitchell of Atlanta, Amy Mitchell of Philadelphia, John and William Pritchett, both of Westfield; and five step-grandchildren, Ann, Ted and Betsy Thode of Westfield, Ed and his wife, Debbie Underwood of Middletown, N.J. and Terri and her husband John Tirrell of Long Branch, N.J.; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Monroe village in Monroe Township on Tuesday, Feb. 27. A private burial was held in the Revolutionary War Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were by Crabiel Memorial Funeral Home, 202 Stockton St., Hightstown, N.J.
Maureen Becker
Maureen E. Mortensen Becker, 57, of Monroe, died Sunday, Feb. 25, at her home.
Born in Kearny, she lived in Fords before moving to Monroe 12 years ago. She was a former co-owner of the Florida Grove Bar and Grill in Hopelawn for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gerald R; a son, Michael J. of New Brunswick; a daughter, Sally McCann; a brother, James L. Mortensen of Perth Amboy; and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Jagodowski.
Funeral services will be held today (Friday), march 2, at 10 a.m. at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Entombment will be at St. James Mausoleum, Woodbridge.
James W. Seaborg
James W. Seaborg, 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in South Bend, Ind., he lived in Staten Island, N.Y., for 33 years before moving to Rossmoor in 1979.
After receiving his bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind., he worked for Westinghouse Co for nine years. He then was in sales management for Muralo Paint Co., a family owned company in Bayonne, for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He was a seaplane pilot for the U.S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander upon his discharge in 1946.
He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club and Old Guard, both in Rossmoor and served as president of his Mutual, No. 12, also in Rossmoor. He was a volunteer at the University Medical Center at Princeton. He was an avid golfer, holding membership at the Richmond County Country Club in Staten Island and the Rossmoor Golf Club. He also sailed his own sailboat out of the Seaside Park Yacht Club. He was a founding member of the Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, Monroe Township.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Norton Seaborg; a daughter, Barbara Clancy of Pennington; three sons, James and his wife, Stephanie, of Darien, Conn., Edward and his wife, Eileen, of Staten Island and Peter and his wife, Peggy, of Malvern, Pa.; a brother, Warren of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today (Friday), March 2, at 8:45 a.m. from M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, Monroe Township. Private cremation will follow.
