LBA Highlights-March 8, 2007

   Following are highlights from the final week of the regular season for the Lambertville Basketball Association:

Third- and fourth-grade girls


Kiwanis 10

Niece Lumber 8


   Sarah Franzini led the scoring for Kiwanis with eight points.
   Shannon Ferry added two points to clinch the win in this close game.
   Kerry Runkle, Amanda Wengryn, Maria Lelie, Kacey Abitz, Zully Sandoval and Shelby Bacorn made some nice passes and all played good defense.
   Kayla Marriott and Cydney Caldwell each scored four points for Niece Lumber, coming up just short of the win.
   Carolina Restrepo, Brittany Kerr, Lian Grow, Meagan Warner, Christina Brush and Amber Riveiro helped run the offense keeping their team in the game.
Extreme Mowing 10


Sneakers Plus 7


   In a close match, Cori McClelland and Jade Assad each scored four points, and Bryana Hopkins had two points to edge Sneakers Plus.
   Hannah Schultz, Madison Storcella, Mikayla Stoy, Kendall Storcella and Ashley Eick grabbed several rebounds for the Extreme Mowing team.
   Hadley Greenwood scored three points for Sneakers Plus. Cassie Barrett and Jessica Hoff each had two points.
   Sadie Lerman, Amanda Myers, Julia Greenwood and Devon Nini played hard throughout the game.
Third- and fourth-grade boys


H&H Pools 21

Colonial Sportsmens Club 9


   Josh Phillips led the scoring with eight points for H&H Pools.
   Adding to the score were Miles Mosby and Brendan Duer with four points each, Nathaniel Tettemer with another two points and Jonathan Eick, Zachary Roy and Lukas Robinson with one point each.
   Jimmy Barnes, Michael Barnes, Ernie Luster and Julian LaPlante played good defense.
   Scoring for CSC were Jimmy Smiegocki with four points, Robert Tomenchok and Alex Del Vecchio each with two points, and Alex Lucarini with one point.
   Nick Scamuffa, Chad Moore, Thomas Maris, Tyler Hack, Thomas McCloughan and Dario Sabidussi put in a good effort throughout the game.
The Medicine Shoppe 16


E.J. Lelie 15


   In this well-played game, the Medicine Shoppe came out the winner in a close match with E.J. Lelie.
   Brennan Carey scored six points, Tyler Frazee made four points, and Clayton Hope, Nick Bohrer and Tom Wyckams had two points each for the Medicine Shoppe.
   Nice passing by Wyatt Fuller, Shane Carey, Joseph Ippolito, Colin Fritschy, Sam Tucker and Dakota Fiel helped bring in the win.
   Andrew Lelie scored eight points for E.J. Lelie. Brendan Hartpence added to the score with four points, and Robbie Quinn helped with three points.
   Good team effort by Brandon Panetta, Shane Hoyer, Myles Johnson, Miles Smith, Brandon Smith and Richard Roy made this an exciting game.
Fifth- and sixth-grade girls


Body Tech Fitness 19

White Dog Studio 5


   Chelsea O’Neal, lead scorer, poured in eight points, Jessica MacGregor made five points, Brett Lelie scored four points, and Annie Hajek added two points to keep Body Tech ahead.
   Ali Carlson, Keziah Groth-Tuft, Tiffany Moran and Ashley Luster helped run the offense for their team.
   Caroline Faulkner scored four points, and Clover Stieve added one point to put White Dog Studio on the scoreboard.
   Eliot Hagerty, Kaycee Zelkovsky, Corrine Miller and Ashley Benthan helped grab several rebounds and showed good hustle.
Zanya Spa 12


Garefino 9


   Zanya’s Spa won this close match with Garefino.
   Emily Marshall, high scorer, pumped in six points. Dain Silvestri made three points, Ryann Tucker scored two points, and Heidi Culbertson added one point for Zanya’s.
   Assisting with the win were Taylor Caldwell, Amy Dupuis, Madeline Colavita and Cassie Fresco, who played well throughout the game.
   Garefino’s Mikayla Fulper scored four points, Rebecca Williamson made three points, and Julianna Hoff added two points.
   Teammates Jessica Esposito, Megan Donnelly, Kyle Bogdan and Maggie Emge helped grab several rebounds and showed good hustle.
Fifth- and sixth-grade boys


Mike Cifelli’s 37

Hart Enterprises 14


   Jake Phillips was lead scorer for Cifelli’s with 12 points.
   Fellow team members Grant Jensen made nine points, Devon Troutman had seven points, Andrew Koval made five points, and Ryan Godown and Cody Burd each added two points.
   Cody Burd scored his first two points of the season.
   C.J. Townes, Liam Piscetelli and Patrick Ferry played good defense, keeping the opposition in check.
   Robert Albanir led Hart’s offense with eight points. Also scoring were Jason Shurts, Robert Eick and Danny Begg, each with two points.
   Kyle Tillett, Aaron Weber, Paul Cally and Michael Failla showed good hustle.
Mortgage Mobility 24


Pine Creek Golf Center 22


   During this exciting, well-played game, Jake Whitaker led Mortgage Mobility with eight points.
   Toby Coleman made six points, Alex Frazee had four points, and Jimmy Eick, Daniel Voorhees and Bishop Castor made two points each to win the game.
   Bobby Goodwin, Brad Bolash, Zachary Mastrich and Andrew Nini played good defense and kept pressure on Pine Creek.
   Hunter Ploski scored nine points, Jonathan Wendeborn made seven points, Dakota Polenz had four points, and Jared Bogdan added two points for Pine Creek.
   Kyle Richardson, Shane Duer and Charles Graycar helped run the offense and gave their best defensive effort.
Playoffs

   The playoffs are Saturday, March 10.
   The third- and fourth-grade girls are at Lambertville Public School at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
   The fifth- and sixth-grade girls play at 11 a.m. and noon at South Hunterdon Regional High School.
   The fifth- sixth grade boys play at 1 and 2 p.m. at South Hunterdon. The third- and forth grade boys play at 3 and 4:15 p.m. at South Hunterdon.
