‘Contours of the Figure’

"The Human Element" by Jeff Gross“The Human Element” by Jeff Gross An exhibit devoted to the human form in various mediums and modes of expressions has opened at the Frederick Gallery in Allenhurst.

“Contours of the Figure” features art works selected from 11 artists whose backgrounds are as diverse as their choice of materials.

Included in this exhibition are sculptures in bronze and marble, charcoal drawings, oil paintings on paper, canvas and aluminum, photography and jewelry in silver and gold.

Works by four local artists are included in the exhibit: Pat Hutchinson, Belmar, watercolors and oils; Jay Bosinak, West Long Branch, large format works in oil, pastel and conte crayon; Everette R. LeCompte, Wall, paintings in a collage of texture of acrylic medium and sand; Jeff Gross, Farmingdale, original ciba chrome photography.

Exhibiting artists also include: Rhoda Yanow, West Orange, a pastel artist whose specialty is ballet paintings and people in pastels; Gina M. Bellando, Elizabeth, charcoal drawings; Michelle Doll, Hoboken, oil on canvas and works on paper; Lisa Lebofsky, Bronx, N.Y., etchings and oil on aluminum; Patrizia Vignola, Staten Island, N.Y., oil on canvas and drawings on muslin.

The exhibition will be on view through April 21 at the Frederick Gallery, 401 Spier Ave. in Allenhurst. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
