Virgie E. Forman
HAMILTON Virgie E. Forman, 86, of Yardville, died Saturday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
She was born in Doylestown, Pa., and had resided most of her life in Bordentown.
Daughter of the late George and Blanche Mich and sister of the late Blanche Di Pietro and Francis Mich, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Angelo Lumia of Yardville; grandchildren Karen Genicola, Brian and Doris Ashland, Joe and Kathy Lumia, Carol and Tony Florio, Rose and Bill Rassmussen and Phyllis and Alex Farrah; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Violet Parker; four brothers, George, Russell, Raymond and Howard Mich; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown with burial following in the Bordentown Cemetery.
Joseph Chiacchio
EWING Joseph Chiacchio Jr., 48, died Friday at his home.
He was born in Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia and lived in Ewing for most of his life.
He was previously employed by Bovis in Princeton as an IT systems administrator. Mr. Chiacchio attended Lanning Elementary, Fisher Junior and Ewing High schools. He also attended the NRI School for Systems Management. He enjoyed fishing as one of his favorite pastimes.
Son of the late Joseph Chiacchio Sr. and father of the late David Lineback Chiacchio, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Lineback Chiacchio; his son Carl; his mother, Veronica Chiacchio of the Masonic Home in Burlington; two sisters, Sandra Caligiuri of Hopewell and Sheryl and her husband Eric Schneckenberger of Chesterfield; his brother, Gary and his wife Mary Chiacchio of Denver, Colo.; one niece, Mallory Schneckenberger of Yardville and one nephew, Tyler Schneckenberger of Chesterfield; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends may share their condolences with the family on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Kutch Funeral Home, 215 Grand St., Trenton.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Ewing Cemetery.

Sophia M. Piepszak Andrews
EWING Sophia M. Piepszak Andrews, 89, died March 7 at the Merwick Rehab and Nurse Care Facility, Princeton.
Born in Trenton, Mrs. Andrews was a lifelong Trenton and Ewing Township resident.
She was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Holy Cross Post 417, Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Hedwig’s Rosarians, Group 6, and the Helene Fuld Medical Center Auxiliary.
Daughter of the late Albert and Josephine Brobowicz Piepszak, wife of the late Edward W. Andrews Sr., and sister of the late John, Joseph, and Leo Piepszak and Mary DeBoskey, she is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward W. Jr. and Christine Andrews of Montgomery Township, and Frank A. Andrews of Bordentown Township; five grandchildren, Brian, Courtney, Lauren, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Piepszak and Irene Piepszak; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday from the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave.
Funeral Liturgy was celebrated Monday in St. Hedwig’s Church with the Rev. Dr. Jacek Labinski presiding.
Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing Township.

John H. Johnson Jr.
FLORENCE John H. Johnson Jr., 44, of Florence died March 6.
Born in Trenton, he had resided his entire life in the Bordentown-Florence area.
Mr. Johnson was employed by the Bordentown Regional School System. He was president of Power Play Music as "DJ Johnnie J." and had previously worked at Adventure Aquariums in Camden and St. Mary’s School in Bordentown City. He coached Little League baseball in Florence for many years.
He was a member of Post 194 Sons of American Legion Veterans in Florence, and a member of Local 68 of the Operating Engineers, where he had his black and blue seal. He was a member of Consolidated Fire Assn. in Bordentown City, and was an exempt member of Florence Fire Company District 40.
Son of the late John H. Johnson Sr., son-in-law of the late Lawrence and Janet Mercantini, Sr., and Deborah Mercantini, he is survived by by his wife, Mary N. Johnson (nee Mercantini) of Florence; his mother and step-father, John and Marlin Wherley of Gettysburg, Pa.; his son, Petty Officer Third Class John H. Johnson III, USS Stout, Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Karin Anne Johnson of Florence; two sisters, Donna J. Potts and her husband Gordon of Groveville, Pa., and Allison F. Rice and her husband Jay of Columbus; a brother, Brian F. Johnson and his wife Diane of Hamilton; step-brothers and sisters, Richard and Mary Ann Wherley of Hamilton, Roger and Cecelia Wherley of Browns Mills, and Diane and Glenn Dyal of Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown City.
Burial followed in Bordentown Cemetery.

Julia Peterla
CRANBURY Julia Peterla, 100, died March 6 in The Elms of Cranbury.
Born in Bukovec, Czechoslovakia, Mrs. Peterla arrived in the United States at age 16. She was formerly of New York City, moved to Millstone Township in 1941 and had lived in the Hamilton area since the 1960s.
She was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the American Czechoslovak Farmers Club of Washington Township.
Wife of the late Paul Peterla and grandmother of the late Susan Morgan, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Jr. and Theresa Peterla of Sayre, Pa., Robert and Marie Peterla of Columbus and Stanley and Jeanette Peterla of East Windsor; her eight grandchildren, Terry, Paul, Laurie, Mary, Lynn, Rob, Brian and Jeff; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, with the Rev. Sarah Wilson officiating.
Interment followed in St. John Slovak Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hamilton.

Robert F. Schetler
SPRINGFIELD Robert "Bob" F. Schetler, 59, of Hainesport and Springfield Township, died March 4 at the Virtua-Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.
Born in Riverside, Mr. Schetler graduated from Riverside High School in 1965, received his associates degree from Wesley College in Delaware, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College. He worked as fleet director for McCollister’s Moving and Storage for many years, and worked as the fleet director for several other moving and storage companies in Georgia, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. He later established Schetler Transport LLC of Columbus, which provided leased services transporting fuel products throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, to T.K. Transport in Pennsauken.
He was a life member and past chief of the Jacksonville Fire Company, and was a former member of the Burlington County Fire Chiefs Association. He was also a life delegate of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, a member of the Springfield Township Firemen’s Relief Association, and was the architect of the Burlington County Tanker Task Force. He also served as the chairman of the Springfield Township Planning Board for over 14 years. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman, fishing, boating, and collecting trucks and trailers.
He is survived by his three daughters, Melanie Ziegler and her husband Kevin of Lebanon, TN, Carolyn Joy Schetler and her fiancé Frank Cochrane of Burlington Township, and April K. Schetler also of Burlington Township, and by his grandson Joshua A. Ziegler. He is also survived by his parents. Doris and Jackson Schetler of Riverside; by his brother and sister-in-law. William R. and Bernadette Schetler of Yardley, Pa; his Nephew. Bill Schetler Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla; his niece. Becky Schetler of Boston, Mass.; by his beloved companion Rosemary Kay of Jacksonville; and by many other loving relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Interment followed in the Upper Springfield Cemetery, Springfield Township. Russell D. Gravener
FLORENCE Russell D. Gravener, 89, died Feb. 23 at Hamilton Hospital.
Born and raised in Florence, he lived in many places during his 20-year military career in the U.S. Navy, eventually settling in Long Beach, Calif. in 1953 before returning to Florence 14 months ago.
Mr. Gravener was a Spanish language teacher at the Artesia High School in the Long Beach area and retired as vice principal after 23 years of service. He had also been the proprietor of a furniture store in the Long Beach area.
Prior to this was his military career in the U.S. Navy in which he served aboard the USS Wichita, doing duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific and finally retiring as a full commander.
Mr. Gravener was a graduate of Bordentown High School and graduated in 1938 from Rutgers University. During his early years in Florence he was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, where he served as organist, acolyte and a member of the Vestry.
In Long Beach, he was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Mr. Gravener enjoyed listening to opera music. Many people who knew him thought he was gifted with the wisdom and knowledge of being able to speak on any topic.
Husband of the late Elizabeth Engelberger Gravener, father of the late Carol Gravener and brother of the late Virginia Chambers, Edna Wieland, Mary Greenlee Keysor, Charles A. Gravener, and Floyd D. Gravener, he is survived by a brother, Arthur S. Gravener of Florence; many nieces and nephews; and his late daughter’s best friend Najed of California, who was like a daughter to him.
A Memorial Requiem and Burial Office was held Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2nd and Spring Streets, Florence, with the Rev. Linda Moeller, Vicar, officiating.
Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence.

Warren Hill Sr.
SEWELL Warren Hill Sr., 83, died March 9 at Camden County Health Service Center in Blackwood.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a rubber worker at Luzerne Rubber and then became a maintenance man at the Mercer County Court House.
Husband of the late Margaret Tudja Hill, he is survived by his son and wife Warren Jr. and Mary Ann Hill; his grandson Jonathan Hill of Blackwood; his sister Catherine Schultz of Ewing Township; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 10 a.m. today, Thursday, at the Mullen Funeral Home, 537 S. Olden Ave., Trenton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church.
Burial will be in Greenwood in Hamilton Township.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home until time of church service.
Joseph E. Ash
LAWRENCEVILLE Joseph E. Ash, 79, died March 9 in Saint Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, he resided in Lawrenceville for the past 32 years.
Mr. Ash retired in 1991 after 25 years from the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Ewing Township.
He was an officer and member of Local 195, AFL-CIO-CLC and an avid New York Yankee Fan.
Son of the late Nicholas and Florence Genise Ash, father of the late Donna M. Rura, and brother-in-law of the late Richard Storcella, he is survived by his wife, Jean J. Vizzini Ash; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rita and Frank Pintimalli of Robbinsville, and Carma Storcella of Ewing Township; a granddaughter, Nicole Rura of Hamilton Township; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell and Shirley Vizzini of Columbus and John and Jackie Vizzini of Yardville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday from the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at Saint James Church, 29 East Paul Ave., Trenton.
Entombment followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Madonna Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Catherine Balsano
LINCOLN PARK Catherine Marie Fulginiti Balsano died March 6.
She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles before retiring to raise her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Victoria Fulginiti, sisters Mary Hinkle, Theresa Till, Jane McDonald, and brother George Fulginiti. She is survived by her son Jimmy (Carla) Balsano of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephew Bill (Pat) Hinkle of Columbus; granddaughters Ella Banning of Trenton, Katherine Andreanidis of Tampa, Fla., Laura (Vincent) Severino of Jackson and Debra (Larry) Bross of Las Vegas, Nev.; five great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
Visitation and services were held Monday at Huber Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Burial was at Bordentown Cemetery.
Berkey L. Williams Jr.
TRENTON Berkey L. Williams Jr., 36, died March 6 at Capital Health System at Mercer.
Born in Newburgh, N.Y., he was a resident of Trenton for 30 years and educated in the public school system. He was formerly employed as a recycle worker at National Waste Management Company.
Predeceased by his father, Berkey L. Williams Sr., he is survived by his mother, Constance McDonald-Dixon and stepfather, Frederick E. Dixon; two brothers, Robert Lee Williams and Frederick McDonald, all of Trenton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shameka and the Rev. Darnell Wise of Chesterfield and Senora L. McDonald of Trenton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday at Union Baptist Church, 301 Pennington Ave.
Interment was at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton.

Mary Mount
Mary Lynne Franks Mount, age 62, of Holland, died March 5, after a 16-month battle with brain cancer.
She was born on March 13, 1944 in Oceanport, NJ. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan University and began a career teaching elementary school. She touched many students’ lives in Florida, Rhode Island, and New Jersey with her enthusiastic teaching. After moving from Bordentown, to Wheaton, IL, Mary Lynne continued to spread her enthusiasm for life by volunteering for the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and Westmont Convalescent Center. Her volunteering at the nursing home led to a second career in nursing home administration where she made the residents’ lives happier every day.
After retiring to Holland with her husband, Jerry, Mary Lynne stayed active in her new community by serving as the Holland Chorale’s Vice President of the Board of Directors, and through her volunteer work with the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and Holland Museum.
Mary Lynne is survived by her husband, Jerry Mount, her daughter and son-in-law, Ingrid and Chris Benson of Chicago; her mother, Kathryn Franks, of Florida; her sister and brother and their spouses, Janna and Bill Gaughan, of New Hampshire, Jay and Margie Franks, of New Hampshire; Jerry’s sister and brother and their spouses, Mimi and Tim Loretangeli, of New Jersey, Andrew and Joyce Mount, of South Carolina, and her nieces and nephews, Kristen Gaughan, of Boston, Jennifer, Ned, and Zoe Schwartz, of New Hampshire, Sarah and Adam Loretangeli, of New Jersey, and Joshua, Laura, and Sophia Mount of South Carolina.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 11:00AM, at Third Reformed Church, Holland. Officiating will be the Revs. Kama Jongerius-Zuidema, and William Unzicker. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
