Dr. John R. Morgan III of Princeton died Sunday in Trenton following cardiac surgery.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong Mercer County resident.
   Dr. Morgan practiced medicine in Hamilton. He was on the staff of Capital Health System’s Mercer Campus from 1962 until his death.
   During his career, he was active in the development of Hamilton Hospital, where he eventually served as chief of staff and vice president of the board of governors.
   He served as a medical director for Sterling Drug Inc. and as the director of medical operations for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals.
   Upon leaving the pharmaceutical sector, Dr. Morgan held the positions of director of health services at Rider University, medical consultant to Presbyterian Homes at Meadow Lakes, medical director at Unisys-NJ Medicaid and as senior health physician at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
   Dr. Morgan served as a medical consultant for the New Jersey State Police, on the advisory board for St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrence and as a school physician for Hamilton Township.
   He was a First Marine Division combat veteran of the Korean War.
   He received his undergraduate degree from Temple University, studied at the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from New York Medical College.
   He was a member of the board of governors of the Trenton Boys Club, served as a president and charter member of the Hamilton Township Rotary Club and was a member of the American Legion.
   He was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, tennis, squash and fishing. He was a member of the Trenton Country Club, The Bedens Brook Club, The Trenton Club and Crossing Gun Club.
   Dr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara E. Morgan; sons and daughters-in-law Dr. John R. Morgan IV and Dr. Patricia M. Morgan of Doral, Fla. and Drew H. and Laura E. Morgan of Princeton; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Charles Schroeder; grandsons John R. Morgan V of Florida and Jackson R. Morgan of Princeton; and several nieces, nephews and aunts.
   A memorial service will be held 11a.m. Friday at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 300 S. Main St., Pennington with the Rev. John C. Belmont officiating.

PLAINSBORO — Evelyn Conover Danser died Friday at home. She was 94.
   Born in Manalapan, she was a lifelong resident of Cranbury and Hightstown before moving to the Pavilions at Forrestal in 1999.
   Raised on the family dairy farm, she was educated in the Hightstown public school system and at the New Jersey College for Women, now Douglass College. She continued her association with farming as the wife of a potato farmer.
   Early in her childhood she discovered a talent for, and a love of, needlecrafts that evolved into a passion for sewing. She also expressed her creativity through painting, primarily on ceramics.
   Daughter of the late Clifford L. Conover and the late Anita Holcombe Conover, step-daughter of the late Anna Hancock Conover, wife of the late Oscar Y. Danser, to whom she was married 53 years, sister of the late Tunis and Herbert Conover, Esther C. Robbins and Anna Mae C. Williams and grandmother of the late Elizabeth J. Danser, she is survived by daughters and son-in-law Audrey and Robert Stahl of North Fort Myers, Fla. and Connie Danser of Princeton; sons and daughters-in-law William and Linda Danser of Columbus and Gordon and Christine Danser of Pennington; brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Joan Conover of Hightstown; brother-in-law Henry Williams of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren Kimberly Cianfrano, Penelope Vann, Scott Stahl, Christopher Stahl, Douglas Struve, Jody Struve, Elise Pelcz, Andrea Danser and Catherine Danser; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver Doris Conley.
   A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 North Main Street, Cranbury with the Rev. Dr. Louis Mitchell presiding.
   Interment will be in Brainerd Cemetery.

Albert J. Rago


State education official
   
Albert J. Rago of Princeton died Wednesday at University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 81.
   Born and raised in Trenton, he was a resident of Yardley, Pa., Ewing and Lambertville before moving to Princeton in 2006.
   He was a program officer for the Office of Student Assistance of the New Jersey Department of Higher Education from 1969 until his retirement in 1984.
   Previously a teacher, he began his career in 1952 at Jamesburg High School and went on the Junior High School No. 5 in Trenton where he taught general and business mathematics and supervised the work-study program for 14 years. In 1968 he was elected president of the Trenton Education Association.
   He was an avid reader, skier and tennis player. He took up running in his early 50s and went on to compete in numerous 5K and 10K races. In 1991, he ran in the New York Marathon.
   Son of the late Giuseppe Rago and Carmela Cerenzia, he is survived by daughters and son-in-law Pamela and Brian Hughes of Princeton and Michelle Rago of New York; sisters Edith Kupecki and Vera Chiacchio; brother and sister-in-law Peter and Joyce Rago; grandson Sullivan Hughes; former wife Sharon Naeole; nephews Donald, William and John; nieces Maryanne, Patricia, Joyce, Karen, Melissa and Leslie; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
   A celebration of his life will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Chambers Walk Café, 2667 Main St., Lawrence Township.

EAST WINDSOR — Lloyd E. Stout Sr. died Wednesday at home. He was 82.
   Born in Princeton, he was a 1942 graduate of Princeton High School.
   He was employed as a divisional supervisor in the rubber industry for 32 years before moving to the chemical industry and then into the food industry, retiring in 1988 from Herr Foods.
   While in the rubber field, he started a credit union, becoming its first president and later the treasurer. He also began a company softball team, which he managed, and a company mixer bowling league.
   He attended Rochester Institute prior to being drafted into the Army. He served three years in the European Theater where he was the head of medical supply and distribution department in the 3rd Army. He was discharged with the rank of technical sergeant.
   A member of a family that dated its New Jersey roots back to being shipwrecked off Sandy Hook in 1640, his forebears settled in Hopewell. He was a direct descendent of John Hart, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and of Penelope Van Princess, the first Mrs. Stout.
   He enjoyed Princeton University athletic events, and managing in the tiny leagues, Little League, and the Lou Gehrig league. Additionally, he was fond of jazz and big-band music and was known as an excellent dancer.
   Son of the late Elmer and Estella Stout, he is survived by sons Gary L. Stout and Lloyd E. Stout II; daughters Debra Gruzlovick, Diane Diaz and Helen Conti; grandchildren Myles A. Stout, Ryan J. Stout, Kyle Anna Stout, Nick Conti, Dawn Gruzlovick, John Pelehaty, and Staci Stout.
