The Monmouth County Board of Health will hold a rabies clinic for cats and dogs March 21 at Atlantic Highlands Firehouse, First and East Mount Avenues, and March 22 at Midway Hook & Ladder Fire Company, 161 Broad St., Matawan. Both free clinics will be from 6-7 p.m.
Any New Jersey residents may participate. All pets vaccinated at the clinic must receive a rabies booster shot in either one or three years as stated on the certificate. For pets due in three years, the New Jersey State Department of Health recommends owners return in two years instead to receive the rabies booster shot. The shortened time span provides added protection against rabies exposure.
