The Health Awareness Center at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, now offers the weight management program, Shapedown, for overweight children and their families. Group classes begin March 6 and will meet weekly for 10 weeks on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:45 p.m. at CentraState’s Health Awareness Center, 65 Gibson Place, Freehold Township.
Shapedown is a nationally recognized weight management program for children ages 6-8 and 9-12 and their families. The program helps young people change their food and exercise habits, improve their self-esteem and manage body weight. Shapedown encourages a gradual, safe weight loss or the maintenance of weight as the child grows. The cost is $399 per child and parents. There is a $75 fee for each additional child participating in the program.
