Anne Mika, Perth Amboy, an executive officer of the Middlesex County Association of Realtors, and attorney Seema M. Singh, South Brunswick, president of the Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce (AICC) and founder of the Asian Women’s Safety Net (AWSN) will receive Humanitarian Awards from The American Conference on Diversity at the Central Jersey Chapter’s business and youth dinner March 22, at The Sheraton at Woodbridge Place, Iselin.
Mika’s efforts as executive officer have fostered programs such as a Building Bridges program featured a panel of six ethnic groups – Arab, Hispanic, Indian, Polish, Asian and African American. She also represented the 20-plus executive officers throughout the state on the executive committee of the New Jersey Association of Realtors and chaired the executive officers committee.
Under Singh’s leadership, the nonprofit AICC has grown to over 550 members. She also founded the nonprofit 80-member AWSN to assist, counsel and support Asian women who are victims of domestic violence. She serves on the State of New Jersey’s Renewable Energy Task Force and is a member of the New Jersey Clean Energy Council.
