The American Red Cross is one of six chapters in the country to partner with their local affiliate of the Association of Junior Leagues International in a pilot preparedness program to train Junior League members in both individual and organizational disaster preparedness.
More than 700 Junior League volunteers from 199 U.S. cities and 30 states, including Tinton Falls, gathered in New Orleans to take part in a community rebuilding project.
Junior Leagues and their local Red Cross partners will conduct personal preparedness sessions for members and their families, and sessions also will be conducted to help leagues prepare for and recover from disasters in their business operations. Opportunities will also be available for league members to choose to pursue further Red Cross training in community disaster preparedness and response.
