Forum will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 19 in Hopewell Valley and rebroadcast at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily until April 16

The Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters will hold its annual 90-minute School Board Candidates’ Forum tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in the TV studio at Hopewell Valley Central High School, Pennington-Titusville Road.
The forum will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 19 in Hopewell Valley. It will be rebroadcast at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily until the day before the April 17 school board/school budget election.
At the forum, each candidate will have an opportunity to make opening and closing statements, followed by questions from the public. At the close of the program, interested residents will be able to meet informally with candidates.
Eight candidates seven from Hopewell Township and one from Hopewell Borough are running for three open seats on the nine-member board. The regional board is made up of seven Hopewell Township representatives and one each from Pennington and Hopewell boroughs. Pennington’s one seat, held by Kevin Doran, is not involved in this year’s election.
Joann Held, president of the local LWV, said Wednesday that all candidates have said they plan to attend tonight’s forum.
In the township, seven are vying for two three-year terms. Candidates are: Robert Gehm, of Timkak Lane; Werner Graf (incumbent), of Reservoir Road; Ken Hansen, of Lake Baldwin Drive; Kim Newport (incumbent), of East Welling Avenue; Neil Seftor, of Blake Drive; Aaron Tellier, of Forrest Blend Drive, Titusville; and James Wulf, of Hart Court, Titusville.
In Hopewell Borough incumbent Melvin Myers of West Prospect Street is running unopposed for a three-year term.
Polls on April 17 will be open from 7 a.m.- 9 p.m.
