EAST WINDSOR Former Mayor Barbara Rothstein, 74, died March 22 at University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Perth Amboy, she had been a resident of East Windsor the past 37 years.
Her early years were spent working as a personal secretary to pop singer Johnnie Ray and the Ray Coniff Singers. She loved the theater and was an aspiring actress, working in summer stock and small theater companies.
Years later she became the public relations director of the Menlo Park Mall. In this position, she was able to book acts and institute the first giant Santa Claus on display in the mall.
In later years, she was an advocate of the adult education program in the East Windsor school system and became active in township politics, serving as council member in 1988 and 1989 and mayor in 1989.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen, and her son, Nicky, and is survived by three nieces, Alice Feibush of Clark, Donna Bernstein of Teaneck and Marilyn Starr of North Caldwell; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown.

The Rev. Gary W. Schwartzkopf
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. The Rev. Gary William Schwartzkopf, 69, died March 22.
Born in Teaneck, N.J., he was ordained in 1969 after receiving a Master of Divinity degree from Woodstock College. Before that, he spent four years at St. Andrew on the Hudson Jesuit Seminary, then graduated from Spring Hill College in Alabama.
Later, he received a National Science Fellowship to study at Harvard and Boston College. He also taught at Xavier High School in New York City and St. Peter’s College in Jersey City.
He became resident chaplain at the Sisters of St. Francis in 2000 and also ministered at hospitals in that area.
He is survived by his parents, Nora and William Schwartzkopf; sister Lenore and brother-in-law Leigh Isleib of East Windsor, four grandnephews; and a great grandnephew.
He was buried at the Jesuit Cemetery at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs in Auriesville, N.Y., after a Mass at the Franciscan Sisters Motherhouse Chapel.
The Forgena Brothers Funeral Home in the Bronx handled arrangements.
Agustina A. Munoz
EAST WINDSOR Agustina A. Munoz, 67, died Thursday at home.
Born in Manila, Philippines, she immigrated to New Jersey in 1994.
She graduated from Nazareth High School and the Philippine Normal College in the Philippines.
She taught school for 35 years in the Philippines, until 1995. She was a substitute teacher in the Mercer County area and taught in Prodigy and Montessori Connections.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Munoz Jr. of East Windsor; sons Arnold and Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Oliver Santiago; sister Celerina Bonto; and grandchildren Ifl Endradora and Kaileen Santiago.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown.
Cremation will follow in Ewing Crematory, Ewing.
There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown.
