Businesses invited to ‘Paint the Town Pink’

Program aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness

RED BANK – Visitors to the borough will be seeing “pink” this spring as local businesses take up the cause of promoting breast cancer awareness.

“Paint the Town Pink” will transform Red Bank as stores and restaurants “go pink” from April 29 to May 5.

“Paint the Town Pink” is sponsored by Riverview Medical Center and Red Bank RiverCenter. Over 50 businesses throughout the Red Bank community have already partnered for the event. There is no cost to participate, as the event is all about education and awareness.

Participating businesses will show their support by creating pink ideas that fit their setting, and by distributing breast cancer educational material to their customers.

Ways to participate are endless and up to the individual businesses. For example, bakeries may have pink cupcake specials; salons can have pink manicure specials; restaurants can have pink menu specials or cocktails; clothing stores may have pink sales.

“Pink” businesses will be clearly identified and can offer a variety of specials and unique promotions.

All Red Bank businesses are welcome to participate. Businesses that sign up by April 3 will be included in advertising.

Promotion will begin in April and encourage patrons to visit “Pink Bank,” where they will find educational information about breast health and pledge forms to sign up for an annual mammogram in many stores and restaurants.

Members of the business community can contact Riverview Medical Center for additional details about “Paint the Town Pink,” by calling Tria Deibert at (732) 530-2640 or Donna Sellmann at (732) 530-2282.
