Frederick J. Cole Jr.

   MERCERVILLE — Frederick J. Cole Jr., 78, died Saturday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a Mercerville resident for 55 years.
   He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948.
   Mr. Cole retired in 1990 from C.V. Hill Refrigeration in Trenton after 45 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish and Hamilton Township Senior Citizen Group. He enjoyed playing golf, playing pinochle, watching just about any sport, and spending time with his family.
   Mr. Cole was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Cole Sr. and Marion Hyde Cole. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary D. Colella Cole; his son and daughter-in-law, Frederick J. Cole III and Allison J. Cole of Yardville; his daughter, Nancy D. Colella of Vineland; his grandchildren, Morgan, Corinne, Marin and Arden Cole; two sisters and their husbands, Joyce and Gene Kondash of Chesterfield and Shirley and Ken Lindley of The Villages, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, "Demon."
   The funeral was held Wednesday from Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Ave., Trenton.
   A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State St. Ext., Mercerville.
   Interment followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
William J. Gaynor

   HAMILTON — William J. Gaynor, 60, died Saturday.
   Born in Trenton, he was a longtime Bordentown resident before moving to Hamilton four months ago.
   Mr. Gaynor attended St. Mary’s Elementary School in Bordentown and was a 1966 graduate of Bordentown High School.
   A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Mr. Gaynor served in the Military Police Army, graduating from the MP School in Fort Gorden, Ga. He was stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. before being deployed to Vietnam.
   Mr. Gaynor worked for Borden’s Dairy, Deckers Dairy, Greenwood Dairy and Lehigh Valley Dairy and was currently employed at Stepan Company in Fieldsboro where he worked for 22 years.
   He was a member of United Electrical Radio & Machine Workers of America Local 155. William was an Exempt Lifetime member of Consolidated Fire Association of Bordentown, the past assistant chief of Bordentown Fire Company, past member of Mission Fire Company in Bordentown Township, a member of Moose Lodge No. 737 of Mount Holly and the VFW Post 3525 of Hamilton.
   Son of the late Edward G. and Catherine Hart Gaynor, he was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Anne Foster, Michelle Denelesbeck and Thomas Gaynor. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, with whom he resided, Rebecca and Frank Martin of Hamilton; his son and daughter-in-law, William J. Jr. and Carol Gaynor of Bordentown; two grandchildren, Kasey and Cole Martin of Hamilton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward III and Phyllis Gaynor of Glendale, Ariz., David and Irene Gaynor of Evesham, Martin and Ethel Gaynor of Bordentown and Michael and Patty Gaynor of Bordentown; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and cousins.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Bordentown.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Consolidated Fire Association, PO Box 47, Bordentown, NJ 08505.
Salvatore Anthony Ponticelli

   TOMS RIVER — Salvatore (Sam or Sal) Anthony Ponticelli died March 30 at the VanDyke Hospice Center of Community Medical Center in Toms River.
   Born in Trenton, Mr. Ponticelli was the youngest of seven children born to Italian parents who emigrated from Italy and resided in South Trenton.
   He graduated from Trenton Central High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after the start of World War II. He served for two years and was honorably discharged in 1942.
   In 1943, he married Mary F. Fasanella, and started his civilian government career. From 1962 until his retirement in 1984 he was director of Military Housing for McGuire Air Force Base.
   He was predeceased by his wife, Mary F. Ponticelli; his granddaughter, Gabrielle Pascarella; four brothers, Joseph, Libert, James and Frank Ponticello; and two sisters, Filomena Recci and Mary Tonti. He is survived by his daughter Celia and her husband Charles Hansult of Charleston, S.C.; his son John (Jack) and his wife Debra of East Bend, N.C.; his son Michael and his wife Barbara of Bordentown; his daughter Linda Pascarella and former son-in-law Kim Pascarella of Toms River; his daughter, Maryann and her husband Salvatore Mattia of Toms River; his son, Philip and his wife Theresa (Tracy) of Winter Garden, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law.
   Funeral services were held Monday at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River.
   Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Hooper Avenue, Toms River.
   Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Louis Luke Onofri

   TRENTON — Louis Luke Onofri, 83, died March 29 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, and formerly of Morrisville, Pa. and Bordentown, Mr. Onofri resided in Trenton for most of his life.
   He was employed by Champale Inc. in Trenton where he retired after over 40 years of service. He also was employed by the Trenton Post Office for many years.
   He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
   He was the son of the late Guiseppi and Carmella Carlucci Onofri; husband of the late Marjorie L. Onofri; father of the late Lawrence Partite; and brother of the late Angelo, Frank, James and Edward Onofri and Viola Tress. He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Jack Bartram of Manahawkin and Debra and John Hornyak Jr. of Yardville; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deborah Onofri of Bordentown; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, the very special Evelyn Onofri of Pennsylvania and Gloria Onofri of Arizona; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Funeral was held Tuesday at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave. in Hamilton Township.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Broad Street in Trenton.
   Entombment was in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Ella M. Neall

   TRENTON — Ella M. Neall, 83, died Saturday in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, Ms. Neall was a lifelong Trenton area resident.
   Daughter of the late Jerome C. Sr. and Merta Neall, and sister of the late Jerome C. Neall Jr., she is survived by a sister, Alma S. Bramley of Hamilton; two nieces, Donna Mulrine of Hamilton, and Beverly Tulli of Trenton; two nephews, Thomas N. Bramley of Bordentown, and Scott Neall of Ewing; a special cousin, Mary Cook; and several great-nieces and nephews.
   The funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Friday at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton.
   Interment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton.
   Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Home.
