Scholarship committee seeking donations for fund

The Scholarship Committee of the Metuchen Parent Teacher Council is seeking donations for its scholarship fund. The committee will award scholarships in two categories. The first category is the Academic Merit Scholarship, awarded to graduating seniors who have consistently demonstrated academic excellence. The second category is a Community Service Scholarship, awarded to graduating high school seniors who have volunteered a significant amount of time to the community.

To make a tax-exempt donation to the scholarship fund send checks to the Metuchen Parent Teacher Council Scholarship Fund. All checks can be mailed to the Metuchen Board of Education, 16 Simpson Place Metuchen, NJ 08840 Please send donations by May 1.

Joint program on stem cell research at Neve Shalom

Colonia Hadassah, Metuchen-Edison Gesher Hadassah and Sisterhood Neve Shalom announce a joint program to take place at Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, on Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m.

The program, called “Listen, Learn and Live Smarter,” is a symposium on stem cell research and diabetes featuring Dr. Martin Grumet, director of Rutgers University’s W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience.
