Vet deserves praise for caring, integrity

To the editor:

Dr. Oliver J. Herz and his wife, I am told, have been caring for the animals at the Allentown Animal Hospital for many years.
If you are looking for fancy, high tech vets in a cold hospital like setting, and fees to match, the Allentown Animal Hospital is not for you. If, however, you are looking for a highly skilled, very caring "country vet" you have come to the right place.
Having lived in northern New Jersey for most of our lives we have had our share of experiences with vets who subject defenseless animals to surgeries and expensive tests, only to tell you, after the fact, that there is no hope. Dr. Herz would do anything to save an animal. Many people bringing their pets to see him told us that their mothers also brought their pets to Dr. Herz when they were young adults. We hope that Dr. Herz will be around for years to come. In this day and age knowing that integrity, experience and a deep caring for animals is alive and well in Allentown, we will continue to place our pets in his trusting care.
