According to monitors placed in the rivers by the U.S. Geological Survey, the water levels at Bound Brook and Blackwell’s Mills in Hillsborough are still rising at 11 a.m. today (Monday).
The USGS monitor at the confluence of the two rivers in Manville is not functioning, currently. However, a monitor at the railroad bridge crossing the Raritan River is showing the river at about 8 feet above flood level.
Acting Gov. Richard Codey has declared a state of emergency, barring all but emergency and essential services travel on state roads.
