Wine tasting raised

$2,000 for library
To the editor:
As local jazz musician Carol Heffler sang and played "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow," 40 guests braved the stormy weather and arrived at Wine 54 in West Amwell to raise money for the purchase of books for the Lambertville Public Library.
With the extension for tax day, they were able to take a break and have some fun Sunday, April 15. They came and enjoyed wines from around the world, ate delicious food, listened to Ms. Heffler’s soothing voice and enjoyed meeting the Friends of the Library, the event organizers.
Ticket sales and a silent auction helped the Friends raise over $2,000.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and the following businesses for their generosity — Ed and Lynn Marra of Wine 54 for refreshments and hosting the event; Bell’s Tavern, Caffe Galleria, Homestead Farm Market and ShopRite of Flemington for donations of food.
We also would like to thank the following for auction items — Body Tech Fitness, Dresswell’s, Events in Style, Fiddleheads, Nora Lewis, Lovrinic Antiques, Martin Nelson, Rojo’s Roastery, Wine 54 and Zanya Spa and Salon.
And, of course, our wonderful wine distributors and experts — Dennis Slack and American BD Company; Kurt Baier and Gateway Perrone; Richard Micketti and North East Wines; and Lou Taylor pouring for Martin Scott Wines.
This wonderful fundraising event ends my role as president. I am delighted to announce Sara Scully is the president-elect of the Friends of the Lambertville Library.
We are honored to have such a talented leader coming to the helm. Watch for more wonderful programs and events to come!

Board grateful

for budget OK
To the editor:
On behalf of the West Amwell Board of Education, I would like to thank everyone who supported our budget at the polls.
We did everything possible to construct a budget that would benefit the children’s education with the least amount of additional burden to the taxpayers.
Our children are our future and our responsibility. When we work hand in hand as partners, so much more can, and will, be accomplished.
Our sincere gratitude to you all.
