GOP candidates to speak at Pierre’s

The South Brunswick Republicans will introduce their party’s two candidates for the state Assembly at Pierre’s Restaurant, on Georges Road, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The two candidates, Hamilton Councilman Tom Goodwin and former Jamesburg Councilman Adam Bushman, will be available to answer questions from township residents. Their opponents for the two District 14 Assembly seats are Democrats Wayne D’Angelo, of Hamilton, and incumbent Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein, of Plainsboro.
Mr. Goodwin would give up his Hamilton Township Council seat if he is elected, because he does not support dual office holding, said Roger Craig, chairman of the South Brunswick Republican Municipal Committee.
Mr. Craig said both Mr. Goodwin and Mr. Bushman, a U.S. Air Force veteran, are "experienced local legislators."
The event, which is free and open to the public, is being held so people can hear what the candidates would do about the "culture of corruption in Trenton," Mr. Craig said.
"We want to reduce our state’s spending ranking," he said. "We’re near the top of the charts with our tax burden."
