Leslie Ultan
Leslie Barry Ultan, of Lawrence, died April 19 after a long illness. He was 72.
Mr. Ultan was born on Nov. 12, 1934 in New York City as the second child and son to late parents Carl and Blanche. He grew up in Bayside, N.Y. with his parents and older brother, Lloyd. After graduating with the Class of 1951, he attended Yale University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science. Mr. Ultan attended New York University School of Medicine, and he and Susan Drezner, who had met at a mutual friend’s sweet sixteen party several years before, were soon married.
Mr. Ultan was awarded a Mercer County Special Recognition Plaque in 1977 for his work helping found the Lifemobile M.I.C.U. Program and made chairman of the New Jersey Department of Health’s Advisory Committee for Mobile Intensive Care Units. He was also the recipient of Helene Fuld Medical Center’s first ever Doctor of the Year Award in 1979 and their Superior Clinical Teaching Award in 1981. In 1984, he was presented with the American Heart Association’s Golden Heart Award for his career work in cardiac care.
Survived by Susan, his wife of 51 years; daughter Robyn; sons Robert and William; daughters-in-law Jill and Lisa; and grandchildren Matthew, Emily and Sophia.
Memorial donations can be given to Capital Health System Foundation’s M.I.C.U. Fund, 408 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Patients, colleagues, community members and all who want to pay their respects are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. today, April 26, at Adath Israel Congregation, 1958 Lawrenceville Road.
Benito DeLorenzo
Benito "Ben" Anthony DeLorenzo, of Lawrence, died April 20. He was 78.
Born in Newark, he resided in Lawrence for the past 50 years.
Mr. DeLorenzo was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was employed by Joseph T. Fewkes and Company, Marlton, for more than 25 years, and was the former owner of Thropp Electric Company, Hamilton Township, for 20 years until 1980.
Son of the late Anthony and Felicia Montouri DeLorenzo; brother of the late Joseph, Frank, Bart, Angelo, and Phil DeLorenzo; he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Linda DeLorenzo, of Vermont, Robert and Kathy DeLorenzo, of Lawrence, and Mark and Wendy DeLorenzo, of Middle Township; a daughter, Janet DeLorenzo, of Middle Township; a sister, Antoinette Sazari; sisters-in-law, Carmela DeLorenzo and Joan DeLorenzo; five grandchildren, Nicholas DeLorenzo, Jenna DeLorenzo, Wendy Gomula and her spouse David, Vincent DeLorenzo and Sam DeLorenzo; a great-grandson, Jake Gomula; his former daughter-in-law and her family, Dawn, David and Tara Pinterich; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Brenna Funeral Home, Trenton. Burial followed in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township.

Mildred Mifflin
Mildred L. Carlucci Mifflin, of Lawrence died Monday at home. She was 94.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong Trenton-area resident.
Mrs. Mifflin was formerly employed by the American Tobacco Company, Trenton, for several years.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Lucrezia Radice Carlucci; sister of the late Benjamin and Vito Carlucci; she is survived by her husband, Leroy R. Mifflin; a son, Thomas Mifflin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and John Osborne of Richmond, Va., Maryann and Thomas Osborne of Emittsburg, Md., and Carol Russomanno of Lawrence; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Louis Carlucci, and Anthony and Frances Carlucci, all of Hamilton Township; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and George Costantini of Bordentown; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Jose Arizarry, Christopher and Tricia Russomanno, Nicole and Martin Hillman, Meredith and Eric Rivera, Robert and Jacki Osborne, David Osborne, Mary Beth Sayles, and Heather and Enos King; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. today, April 26, at the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Parish/Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Ave., Trenton. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of the Lourdes Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Lottie Baran
Lottie Wyzga Baran died April 17 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. She was 85.
Born in Trenton, Mrs. Baran resided in Lawrence for 45 years. She worked for Stangl Pottery Company for 36 years and retired in 1982 from the State of New Jersey, Department of Motor Vehicles after 10 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Steffie Zamonska Wyzga, her husband, Joseph Baran, sisters Claire Turek and Eleanor Beer and her brothers, Edward Wyzga and Stanley Wyzga, she is survived by her sister, Dorothy Patrizi, of Sarasota, Fla.; brother-in-law George Beer, of Sarasota, Fla.; nieces Diane and husband John A. Jr. Hornyak, of Chesterfield, and Sandra and her husband, Michael Russo, of Mansfield; nephews Larry Patrizi, of Middleburg, Va. and John Patrizi, of Hamilton Township; many other nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held April 20 at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, Trenton. Entombment was in the Garden of St. Joseph section in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton Township.
