BORDENTOWN CITY
On April 18, at 7 p.m., police said money and jewelry was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Farnsworth Avenue. The money and jewelry is valued at about $100.
On April 10, at 9:06 a.m., the employees of Marcello’s Restaurant on Farnsworth Avenue discovered that the front door of the business had been forced open. A thief broke into the business after it had closed the prior evening and stole an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
The Bordentown City Police Department began issuing warnings April 16 to vehicles in violation of the sweeper ordinance, which prohibits parking on individual streets or blocks for a period of several hours on certain days throughout the city. All residents, businesses and visitors are urged to take note of the sweeper times in their area, which are posted on signs on each street. On May 1, the police will begin issuing summons for violations, which carry a $17 fine. As a reminder, vehicles displaying handicapped placards or license plates are not exempt from the sweeper ordinance, police said.
FLORENCE
On April 21, at 10:21 p.m., Clayton Durham, 18, of Florence, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Officers were called to the Maplewood Homes complex for a report of a fight that had occurred between Mr. Durham and another man. Police did not say what the dispute had been about. Police said Mr. Durham was upset and was walking around with a large kitchen knife. Police said they told Mr. Durham to drop the knife, which he did, and he was taken into custody. He was released pending a court appearance.
On April 23 at 3 p.m., Vonique Harris, 31, of Bordentown, was charged with possession of cocaine.
Police said Ms. Harris was in court being sentenced on an unrelated charge when a search revealed that she had two clear green baggies containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. She was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $5,000 full cash bail. She was then transported to Burlington County Women’s Facility in Pemberton.
MANSFIELD
On April 22, at 12:57 a.m., Jessica E. Perry, 18, of Bordentown, was charged with contempt of court and Brandon T. Harris, 21, of Philadelphia, Pa., was charged with possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Police said they arrived at the Imperial Inn Motel on Route 206 to serve a contempt of court warrant for the arrest of Ms. Perry. While at the motel, police said they smelled burnt marijuana coming from Ms. Perry’s room, and police noticed several items of suspected drug paraphernalia.
Police said Mr. Harris was also in the room, and was found to be in possession of several packages containing leafy green vegetation suspected to be marijuana.
Ms. Perry was released after posting bail.
Mr. Harris was released into the custody of the Burlington Township Police because of an outstanding warrant.
