LONG BRANCH – Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) on Second Avenue in Long Branch will host a naming ceremony on May 10 at 2 p.m. for the Cline-D’Onofrio Emergency Services Pavilion at the hospital.
The MMC emergency center is being renamed the Cline-D’Onofrio Emergency Services Pavilion in recognition of a recent $3 million donation by Middletown residents Morgan E. Cline and Benjamin R. D’Onofrio.
The gift is in acknowledgment and appreciation for the care Cline and D’Onofrio were given during multiple health crises, according to a press release from MMC.
The donation will go toward enlarging and renovating the medical center’s emergency room, which sees over 46,000 patients per year.
The expansion is necessary to serve the growing population in the county, especially in Long Branch, the press release stated.
The naming ceremony will be preceded by a ceremony at the exterior of the emergency entrance where a new sign will be unveiled. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Sea Breeze Cafe.
Speakers at the event will include: Ronald Del Mauro, president and CEO of Saint Barnabas Health Care System; Dr. Frank J. Vozos, president and CEO of MMC; Dr. Jennifer Waxler, chief of emergency medical services at MMC; and donors Cline and D’Onofrio.
