Mary Welsh Griggs, 92, died Friday, May 4, at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor where she resided.
Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Cranbury for 36 years before retiring to Boynton Beach, Fla. At the death of her husband, she returned to the area to reside at Meadow Lakes in 2002.
She retired from the First National Bank, now PNC Bank, in Cranbury after 20 years of service where she was employed as a teller.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and the Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society. She was a former member of the Cranbury Woman’s Club and the New Jersey Club of Boynton Beach, Fla.
She is survived by two daughters, Eileen and husband, Guy T. McGillan, of Cranbury, and Catherine A. and husband, John J. McCarroll, of Lancaster, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kelly A. and Kerry E. McGillan of Cranbury, Kevin R. McCarroll of New Holland, Pa., and Capt. Mark D. McCarroll, USMC of Jacksonville, N.C.; a special nephew, John P. Shibles of Sea Girt; and a special niece, Laura Shibles of Reston, Va.; as well as many more nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, May 9, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Catholic Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown. Interment followed at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.
