‘Marsh Meditations’

"The Marsh in Autumn" by Marie Sturken “The Marsh in Autumn” by Marie Sturken ‘Marsh Meditations – A Celebration of the Hamilton-Trenton Marsh,” with works by The Princeton Artists Alliance, is at the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft.

The exhibit in the museum’s main gallery features works focused on the unique urban wetland the Hamilton-Trenton Marsh, which supports a diverse habitat of plants and wildlife.

A variety of media are represented, including watercolor, oil, handmade paper, wood, clay, assemblage sculpture, digital photography and mixed media.

The Princeton Artists Alliance was founded in 1989 and is composed of 23 artists, each contributing uniquely to the success of this well-known and highly exhibited group.

A related Family Art Workshop will be held Sunday, May 20, 2-3 p.m., led by Jim Fitzmaurice, who will teach participants how to observe and record various flora and fauna in a field journal, which will be provided. The program is free for members and persons with paid admission.

The Monmouth Museum is located on the Brookdale Community College campus, Newman Springs Road.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6; members and children under 2 are admitted free.
