The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey will host its annual Garage Sale Saturday, June 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Women’s Club, 62 Main Street, Manasquan. All proceeds benefit the VNA Central Jersey Health Families program which assists first-time mothers before and for five years after the birth of their babies. Sale items include children’s clothes, toys, books, household items and furniture. The sale is held inside and will be held rain or shine. Join the Monmouth County Audubon Society for an evening bird walk to look for nesters and shorebirds on Sandy Hook. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, and will be led by members of the Monmouth County Audubon Society who are familiar with Sandy Hook and its birds. Participants will meet at 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sandy Hook Visitors Center. The free program is open to members and non-members. Advance registration is not required. Participants should bring binoculars and field guides and dress appropriately for the weather. Insect repellent is recommended. The walk will take place light rain or shine. Pets are not permitted.

The Navesink-Swimming River Group, in cooperation with the Monmouth County Clean Communities Program, will hold a community cleanup in Red Bank starting at Carmen Place and Newman Springs Road Sunday, May 20, from noon until 3 p.m.
The cleanup will focus on picking up trash and recyclables at or near the Swimming River. Refreshments, gloves, and bags will be provided.

The Monmouth Boat Club, (MBC), Red Bank, will host an open house to provide sailboat rides and an introduction to its Adult Sailing Program May 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The adult sailing program is open to prospective sailors ages 18 and older and consists of four, two-hour lessons on the Navesink River with a U.S. Sailing Association-certified instructor.
MBC has a 19-foot Flying Scot and a 19-foot Lighting dedicated to the program. Students of the program will receive all lessons in appropriate weather conditions and lessons will be postponed and rescheduled for no wind, too much wind and rain.
