Clarence Reid

   Clarence A. Reid, 78, of Jamesburg, died Monday, May 14, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
   Born in Trenton, he was raised in Jamesburg and lived in Robbinsville before returning to Jamesburg in 1970. He was employed for a few years as a body shop mechanic for Acme Nissan, Highland Park, retiring in 1993. Previously he was employed for over 25 years for Perrine’s Pontiac of Jamesburg.
   He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was a social member of the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department.
   Two of his brothers, George and John, are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Betty Mazzio Reid; four sons, Clarence A. Reid Jr., and his wife, Joyce, of Spotswood, Charles Reid and his fiancé, Lynn Howalth, of Monroe, George and his wife, Patricia, of Monroe, and Anthony LaMantia, the mayor of Jamesburg and his wife, Darlene, of Jamesburg; a brother, Robert of Jamesburg; two sisters, Mary Erdie and Alice Robbins, both of Jamesburg; and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
   Services were held on Thursday, May 17, at Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. Burial was at Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg. Memorials in the name of Mr. Reid may be made to the American Lung Association of N.J., 1600 Route 22 East, Union, N.J. 07083.
