Mary R. Nelson, 84, of Monroe, died Wednesday, May 9.
Born in Perth Amboy, she lived most of her life in Port Reading. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading, and a member of its Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Port Reading-Sewaren Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son, John Nartowicz and his wife, Fran; a daughter, Kathleen Sneedse and her husband, Johnathan; three stepchildren, Robert Nelson, Herbert Nelson and Donna Whiteneck; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
The funeral was held on Monday, May 14, at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, followed by Mass at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. Interment will be at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading or to Holy Family R.C. Church, Carteret.
