Decor shop adds a new branch nearby

There are now two Lisa Jones on Witherspoon Street

Handbags and jewelry fill one Witherspoon Street window, while home décor is on display in another.
Lisa Jones is attempting to spread her chic style farther up Witherspoon Street, opening a second location merely a block away from her home-furnishings store. The new site, located at 16 Witherspoon St., caters solely to fashion and is equipped with bejeweled purses and trendy jewelry.
The former location of the Sparkle Emporium, the new Lisa Jones location opened earlier this month. Its has been more than two years since her first location swung open its doors at 72 Witherspoon St., and ever since business has had a dedicated local following, the owner added.
"When the space became available, I thought it might be time to give the fashion accessories their own home," Ms. Jones said of her newest location closest to Nassau Street.
Although Ms. Jones recognized it’s unusual for a small business owner to have two locations in such a confined area, she said the local support her stores have received makes it easier to compete with the chain stores that continue to take over commercial space in the Princeton area.
"I can’t emphasize enough how it is good to continue to do that in a small town when multiple big chain stores are entering the scene," she added. "It’s a lot of work to try to shine."
The two stores, Ms. Jones said, are entirely different. The original location focuses on home furnishings and gifts, while the newer, smaller location offers sunglasses, an array of jewelry and many other accessories.
Each has style, Ms. Jones added, either for your home or yourself.
Currently, the owner added, lisajonesstyle.com is under construction. The Web site will eventually offer online sales as well.
