Do you want to know what will be on display at the Gourgaud Gallery in June?
So does the exhibit’s coordinator. But he guarantees that the medium will be watercolor and the artwork will be excellent.
The exhibit, titled "Garden State Watercolor Society 2007 Associate Members Exhibit" will feature artwork from over 24 New Jersey artists.
But what that artwork will be has yet to be determined.
Joseph Loeffler, a Garden State Watercolor Society member who is putting the exhibit together, won’t know exactly what he has to work with until a few days before June 1, when the exhibit opens with its First Friday Reception. He said he’s received submission descriptions, but won’t get the actual paintings until then.
"I have 24 entries in the show," he said Wednesday, "and quite the variety of topics really. Some flowers, some landscapes, some buildings. It’s going to be a very interesting show I think."
Though he doesn’t know exactly what the content of the show will be, Mr. Loeffler said anyone who is interested in seeing work by New Jersey artists should check out the exhibit, which runs until June 30.
"The group is really a very well-defined group," he said. "And having been a member now for six years, I’ve seen much of the work in both the associates’ and full-member exhibits and it’s really exceptional work here."
The opening day reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gourgaud Gallery, located in Town Hall.
