Janice C. Freeman
Longtime Princeton resident
Janice C. Freeman, a longtime Princeton resident, died Wednesday at Compassionate Hospice Care of St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, after a brief illness. She was 41.
Born in Anderson, S.C., she moved to Princeton as a young child in the early 1970s.
Ms. Freeman was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Princeton.
Predeceased by her maternal grandparents John Frank and Georgia Bell Sloan and paternal grandparents Moses and Codine Freeman, all of South Carolina; she is survived by her mother Bobbie Jean Freeman; father William K. Freeman; sons Andre G. Cutler and Damian L. Freeman both of Princeton; special aunt Catherine Heard of Princeton; sisters Sandra F., Martha J. and Georgia D. Freeman; brothers Stanley B. and Randy W. Freeman, all of Trenton; special and close cousins Demont R. Heard of Westfield, and Cora Sloan, Annie, Mesha and Wanda Heard of Princeton; several nephews, nieces and one great nephew; and many of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She also leaves those special in her life: Brooke Vietens and family, Jenine Barsamian and family, and the Bristol family, all of Princeton.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, 170 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
Calling hours are 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Princeton resident
Mary E. Griffiths of Princeton died Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 59.
Born and raised in Plainfield, she was a Princeton resident the past 20 years.
She worked for Telcordia Technologies in Piscataway for 25 years, retiring in 2002.
She attended Caldwell College.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework. She also volunteered for the Contact of Mercer County 24-hour hotline for two years.
Daughter of the late Robert L. Griffiths, sister of the late Howard Griffiths, she is survived by her mother, M. Elizabeth Griffiths of Plainfield; brothers Robert M. of Houston and Peter F. Griffiths of Darlington, Md.; sisters Pat Griffiths of Orange, Catherine Griffiths-Bilner of Cape Cod, Mass., Joann E. dePadua of Park Ridge, Ill. and Christine E. Goldstein of Wyndmoor, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. today at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 W. 8th St., Plainfield, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Plainfield.
Visiting hour is 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the Mass.
Cremation will be private. Burial will be noon Wednesday in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.

Amoy A. Smith
West Windsor resident
WEST WINDSOR Amoy Augustina Smith died Friday. She was 68.
She was born in Trinidad and Tobago.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Arnold W. Smith; children Winston A. Smith, Maria T. Smith, Richard A. Smith, Kimlin Smith Lee; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. today at St. David the King Church, 1 New Village Road West, West Windsor.
Visiting hour begins at 9 a.m.
Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Robert Peacos
Owned lawn-maintenance firm
FRANKLIN Robert Peacos died Wednesday. He was 48.
Born in Princeton, Mr. Peacos was a lifelong area resident.
He owned and operated B.P. Lawn Maintenance, based in Franklin Township.
Son of the late Agnes L. Latterman Peacos, he is survived by his father, Joseph Peacos, brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph and Beverly Peacos Jr. and Mark and Paula Peacos; sisters and brothers-in-law Cynthia and Joseph Schoeneck and Laraine and Art Parsell; niece Kathleen Wyckoff; and nephews John Kinelski and his wife Erica, Joseph Peacos III and his wife Beth, and Raymond Wyckoff.
