John Wojnas, Jr.

   John R. Wojnas Jr., 69, died Thursday, May 24, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.
   Born and raised in Bayonne, he was an Eagle Scout in his local Boy Scout Troop 19. He graduated from the Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and later studied at and received a certified public management degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He and his wife, Patricia A. McErlean, moved to Monroe in 1977.
   He was an industrial engineer for several companies throughout his career, including Celanese, Coca-Cola Co., Knickerbocker, and most recently the state of New Jersey as an industrial engineer-in-charge. He retired in 1999.
   He was an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman and conservationist. He was expertly skilled in fly tying and rod crafting. He was an active member of the Musconetcong Trout Club and loved classical music.
   His sister, Barbara Ann CarAcciolo, is deceased. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia; his son, John R. III of Ewing; his daughter, Dawn A. Moretti and her husband, Jeffrey J., of Bordentown; his best friends, Thorney Lieberman of West Virginia, and Ken Somers of Bayonne; one aunt and one uncle; and several nieces, nephews and several other family members.
   A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 30, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, N.J. 08831. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
