Master Gardeners slate bee program

"Bees, Not Just for Honey" set June 16 from 10-11 a.m.

The Master Gardeners of Mercer County will host a program, "Bees, Not Just for Honey," on June 16 from 10-11 a.m. Back for a second year is the summer Q&A where Master Gardeners will be on hand from 9:30-11:30 a.m. to answer gardening questions. The program will be held at the Mercer Education Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township, adjacent to the Mercer County Equestrian Center.
Master Gardener and Master Beekeeper Melissa Palmer of Hopewell Township will share first-hand insight into the activities of the solitary Mason Bee and social Honey Bee. Learn how to invite bees to gardens and enjoy the benefits they provide.
Take plant, insect, weed or other garden questions to the Q&A table before and/or after the program. To benefit the Master Gardeners of Mercer County educational programs, a donation of $3 is requested.
The Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer educational outreach program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, 930 Spruce St., Lawrence. They participate in many volunteer programs, as well as answer home horticulture questions through their Helpline, 989-6853, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March through October.
