It’s not too late to pedal for a good cause.
The Cranbury Area Mother’s Club annual Bike-A-Thon to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick will take place Sunday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in Heritage Park after the event was canceled last week because of bad weather.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend and bike, walk or jog the paths in Village Park three times to benefit the charitable organization. There will be a smaller loop available at the site for younger children to use.
The cost to participate in the event is $5 per child or $15 per family. The money goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick, which provides a temporary residence for families so they can be closer to area hospitals while their children receive medical care.
There will be an inflatable bouncer sponsored by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, as well as a balloon sculptor provided by the Cranbury Area Mother’s Club on site to add extra fun to the event. Those who participate will receive a free medal and snack.
Community members are also encouraged to grab a bite to eat at Cranbury Pizza on Sunday. The restaurant plans to make a donation to the charity for each order placed on the evening of the Bike-A-Thon if the event is mentioned when the order is placed.
The Cranbury Area Mother’s Club is also asking that participants bring a food pantry item, paper supplies or household cleaning item to help keep the Ronald McDonald House stocked.
