From the June 14 edition
Thanks to everyone for great re-enactment
To the editor:
What a wonderful weekend! The re-enactment was a resounding success and we owe it all to lots of people.
First, a very special thank you to all of the Fathers and Brothers at Divine Word and Ocean Spray Cranberries. Without you none of this would have happened. We are eternally grateful for all of your support.
The City of Bordentown Police Department and the Public Works department, the Bordentown Regional School District, Bordentown Township and Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 all outdid themselves. Thank you.
To all of our volunteers who helped cook hot dogs and pork roll, sell T-shirts and keep up the morale, Janet Denney, Rob Pecht, Billy Mercantini, Kathy Finch, Barry Hausser, Jim Brimmer, Duke Mercantini, Dean Imlay, Jim Kelly, Pete Eleuteri, Ann Lyon, Sue Kelly, Stephanie Pecht, Heather Cheesman, Cindy Lynch, Joannie Platt, Ellen Wehrman, Suzanne Wheelock…you are all appreciated more than you could know.
And who could forget all the work that Carl Cszathmary and his group of well organized people and the fabulous re-enactors, all 1,500 of you that came from far and wide to make this a very memorable event.
Thank you to the people of Bordentown and surrounding areas for making a spectator crowd nearing 2,000 people. We hope you enjoyed the re-enactment and we hope that one day in the future we can do this all over again!
And last but not least, thank you Register News and Vanessa Holt for the wonderful job on getting the word out and keeping the 325th Anniversary of Bordentown in the forefront of the news.
