Donald D. Tanner
Mr. Tanner, 66, of Englishtown, died May 29, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after a long illness. Born and raised in Englishtown, he had lived in Newark for more than 25 years before entering Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan, in June 2004. He worked in construction. Mr. Tanner was predeceased by a brother, Herbert R. Tanner; two sisters, Arline D. Tanner and Gail M. Tanner-Copeland; and his longtime companion, Grace Pittman. Surviving are two brothers, Charles C. Tanner Jr. of Lakewood and Bobby J. Tanner of Monroe; four sisters, Shirley J. Johnson and Patricia D. Simms, both of Freehold, Sondra P. Little of Asbury Park and Jerri D. Tanner of Trenton; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Dorothy K. Nimick
Mrs. Nimick, 79, of The Villages, Howell, died May 30, 2007, at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. She was born in Freehold and was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retiring in 1990, Mrs. Nimick was the court clerk for the borough of Freehold for 17 years. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward O. Kirby and Arthur Kirby, and two sisters, Jeanetta K. Treat and Sarah Huber. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Nimick; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George E. Nimick of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and fiancée Peggy, and Craig J. and Antoinette Nimick of Freehold; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley A. and Thomas Cook, also of Freehold; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
